Alexander Aprelev 9c4a322b08 Reland "[vm/isolates] Introduce fast isolate spawn in AOT."
This reverts commit 922ea3e9b6 in patchset 1, fix for assertion triggered in https://ci.chromium.org/b/8883214567628884960 in patchset 2, fix for deadlock around symbols table mutex in patchset 4.

Original commit description:

Speed up is achieved by sharing most of the dart code, object store
and class table between isolates in single isolate group. So
instead of bootstrapping isolate from the snapshot, isolate is
initialized by setting pointers to existing data structures already
set up for first isolate, and only few isolate-specific structures (moved
to newly introducted isolate_object_store) are created.

To allow for safe cross-isolate switchable call site, type test cache
mutations additional synchronization via RunWithStoppedMutators(that
relies on safepoints) was added.
Besides switchable call sites, no other mutation to the dart code is
done in AOT, which allows such sharing.

Teagan Strickland b55342cb3e [vm/aot] Drop some Function objects not needed at runtime.
In particular, don't serialize a function if its code is used by the
dispatch table, but there's no need for the function object itself
at runtime like dynamic lookup or dynamic invocation forwarders.

However, just because the owning function is not needed at runtime,
it may be used during serialization for things like assembly label
creation. Thus, instead of just clearing out the Code's owner field,
we add a new WeakSerializationReference (WSR) object whose target is
the original contents of the owner field. The WSR allows the
serializer to access the original owner, but also signals to the
serializer that the target should not be serialized in AOT snapshots
unless there are additional strong (non-WSR) references.

If no strong references are found, then the references to the WSR
in the snapshot are replaced with a reference to a WSR that only
contains the class ID of the original target. The serializer creates
only one WSR per class ID.

If strong references are found, then the target is still serialized.
In this case, the WSR is dropped entirely and any reference to it is
replaced with a direct reference to the serialized target. Thus, WSRs
only exist in the precompiled runtime for targets with no strong
references.

Alexander Markov 03c3eff5dd [vm] Support JIT exception handling in DART_PRECOMPILER mode
DART_PRECOMPILER define is used when building gen_snapshot and
run_vm_tests. Both gen_snapshot and run_vm_tests support AOT and
JIT modes, selected by FLAG_precompiled_mode.

Before this change, DART_PRECOMPILER always used AOT exception
handling (catch_entry_moves_maps). This works fine even if code is
generated in JIT mode, but it is not compatible with JIT exception
handling. run_vm_tests uses kernel service which comes from app-jit
snapshot (on x64), which is generated in JIT mode with JIT exception
handling. This causes crash if there is a Dart exception in kernel
service.

This change adjusts exception handling in DART_PRECOMPILER mode to
support both AOT and JIT implementations and select one using
FLAG_precompiled_mode.

Ryan Macnak f0b2a46734 [vm, fuchsia, arm64] Restore the shadow call stack on exceptions.
Fuchsia is about to turn on ShadowCallStack for ARM64. Once this is enabled, we need to treat R18 like a preserved register. Generated Dart has not accessed this register because it is reserved on iOS, and in the absence of Dart exceptions this would be sufficient for us to be ShadowCallStack compatible. However, our exception handling mechanism jumps past all the C++ frames between the Dart exit frame and Exceptions::JumpToFrame, skipping code that would pop from R18.

Add save/restore of R18 in the invocation stubs, and restore of R18 in the jump stub. The latter prevents the ShadowCallStack from overflowing for code that has lots of exceptions without a native call.

Before: 9166848
After: 6602752 (-27.9%)

Regressions in tests:

1) Test language_2/type_alias_equality_test/04 fails similarly to default mode, as VM
does not implement comparison of function types according to the specification.
Previously this test was passing as function types were canonicalized in bytecode,
which was not always correct. This CL fixes the problem with canonicalization of
function types in bytecode and the test starts failing again.

2) Tests standalone_2/entrypoints_verification_test, standalone_2/io/test_extension_test,
standalone_2/io/test_extension_fail_test fail as native extensions are not supported
in bytecode yet. These tests start passing after df5e7aac17,
which switched bytecode tests to kernel service (on x64), because kernel service doesn't
drop ASTs. This CL switches from reading AST library declarations to bytecode even if
AST is not removed, so tests fail again.

Martin Kustermann f205292227 [VM] Bare instructions - Part 4: Add --use-bare-instructions flag to AOT compiler & runtime
This is the final CL which adds a new --use-bare-instructions flag to
the VM.

If this flag is set during AOT compilation, we will:

  * Build one global object pool (abbr: GOP) which all code objects
share. This gop will be stored in the object store. The PP register
is populated in the enter dart stub and it is restored when
    returning from native calls.

  * Gets rid of the CODE_REG/PP slots from the dart frames. Instead the
compiled code uses the global object pool, which is always in PP.

  * Starts emitting pc-relative calls for calls between two dart
functions or when invoking a stub.
Limitation: We only emit pc-relative calls between two code objects
in the same isolate (this is because the image writer is writing
    instruction objects for vm-isolate/main-isolate seperately)

  * We do compile-time relocation of those static calls after the
precompiler has finished its work, but before writing the snapshot.
This patches all the instruction objects with pc-relative calls to
    have the right .text distance.

  * We emit a sorted list of code objects in ObjectStore::reverse_code_table,
which will be used by the AOT runtime to go back from PC to Code
objects (where all metadata, e.g. stack maps, catch entry moves, pc
    descriptors are available).

Alexander Markov 781ea1be70 [vm/interpreter] Fix interpreter frame recognition in stack walking, v2
When GC is visiting pointers, it scans mutator thread even if it is not
active. It could happen if a thread has (temporarily) exitted isolate.
In such case, stack frame iteration would not find interpreter and
would not recognize interpreter frames. An attempt to visit interpreter
frame as non-interpreter causes crashes/assertions.

The fix is to move interpreter from Isolate to Thread. This way
interpreter is available for stack walking even if thread doesn't have
isolate.

This is the re-land of https://dart-review.googlesource.com/c/sdk/+/80760
with the fix for precompiler failures.

Vyacheslav Egorov 229d793602 [vm/compiler] Support materializing unboxed variables when entering catch.
Previously we tried to rely on the assumption that all variables would be
boxed - so the machinery for setting correct catch-entry state only
supported tagged values and constants. However this both leads to worse code
and is not entirely correct assumption.

This also:

- renames various confusingly named classes: we move away from talking
about "catch entry state" to "catch entry moves" - because we only
record a subset of moves that needs to be performed and that does
not describe the whole state;
- refactors a bunch of associated code to be more readable and maintainable;
- adds documentation about catch implementation in optimized code
to runtime/docs/compiler;

Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/21685.
