Paul Berry 6ba8c711fa Observatory strong mode fix: expand the class hierarchy for debug events.
This CL adds base classes for breakpoint events (which support a
`breakpoint` getter) and async suspension events (which support an
`atAsyncSuspension` getter). Previously these getters were accessed
through dynamic dispatch.

Paul Berry aad3270ab8 Observatory strong mode fixes: fix C-style parameter declarations.
This CL fixes some cases where Observatory mistakenly tried to use a
C-style parameter declaration, e.g.

    void foo(String);

The intent is to declare the parameter to have type `String`, but Dart
interprets the parameter as having *name* `String` and type `dynamic`.

In most cases the fix applies to abstract method declarations, whose
types aren't semantically relevant in Dart 1.0, so these parts of the
CL should be safe.

In one case it applies to a typedef, IsConnectedVMTargetDelegate. The
only use of this typedef is as the type of
TargetRepository._isConnectedVMTarget, whose value is always the
static function ObservatoryApplication.isConnectedVMTarget.  The type
of ObservatoryApplication.isConnectedVMTarget matches the typedef
(according to Dart 1.0 rules) both before and after the change, so
this should be safe as well.

From https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/31397 it seems that Observatory uses an "old" sdk, i.e. we cannot use new stuff as castTo.

Carlo Bernaschina 0e32851cfd Add Timeline Dashboard hidden page in Observatory
- Refactoring of the TimelinePage in order to remove the
  dependencies from the Service objects.
- Implemented TimelineRepository to abstract the communication layer
- Structured new TimelineDashboardPage with simplified UI and event
  filtering

The VM returns lists of events which are forwarded to Catapult.
Some events are white-listed for the common user.
Due to limitations in the way the events are generated the only way to
attach the white-list flag to the events is by adding an extra argument.
By setting the hash of timeline.html to #basic we inform JavaScript that
we require the activation of the filter which forwards just the events
white-listed to Captapult, while preserving all the others during
dumping operations.

Samir Jindel f0941f7c7d Improve the performance of closure-converted code.
Summary:

Previously, we would create a wrapper function in the flowgraph around converted
closures, which would forward all the closure's arguments and unpack the context
argument before calling the real closure function.

Now, we perform the unpacking at the top of the real function to avoid having
any wrapper function.

Previously, captured parameters would still be appear live to the GC even if
they're updated, because after they are copied into the context, all updates to
them are done there.

Now, as in regular closures, we zero-out the parameter variable after copying
it's value into the context, avoiding potential memory leaks.

Test Plan:

Ran the closure conversion test suite.
Ran benchmarks on Golem -- all statistically significant regressions are gone.

Ryan Macnak b7a0458196 [observatory] Add an "ownership" analysis for the heap snapshot.
An object A is said to be owned by object B if all direct references to A come from B. In particular, an object that holds unshared lists and maps will own the heap size of those lists and maps, as well as any unshared elements. We hope a table of owned sizes will be more useful than a table of shallow sizes, since the latter typically says the heap is mostly lists.

Alexander Markov bda3c9c2b2 Simplify and fix implicit closure check, speed up Closure_equals, v2
This is the re-application of 44e8da3ecd
with fixes:
* Dartanalyzer error is fixed in the new test isolate/message4_test
* The new test is skipped in the status file in dart2j/non-d8 modes,
  issue #30247 is created.
* Minor tweak of Closure_equals: other.IsClosure() is tested earlier.

Original CL review:

https://codereview.chromium.org/2989493002/

Original CL description:

This CL introduces a new Function kind, kImplicitClosureFunction, in
order to simplify check for implicit closures and make it more
efficient.

This CL also fixes Function::IsImplicitStaticClosureFunction(RawFunction*)
to correctly handle implicit closures created from static native
functions.

Closes #30203.

As the result of a faster check for implicit closures and slight
refactoring of Closure_equals, micro-benchmark exercising Closure_equals
speeds up from 9618ms to 6700ms for implicit closures case and
insignificantly for other cases.

Carlo Bernaschina df8bf384eb Introduce external services registration
A new RPC is introduced `_registerService` which allow clients to
register new services that are accessible from all the other clients.

Each registered endpoint is identified by 3 strings:

 - `service`
a non empty string which identifies the provided service
   (e.g. `HotReload`, `OpenFile`)
 - `alias`
an alias for that particular endpoint used by clients to identify it
   (e.g. `Flutter`, `IntelliJ`)
 - `method` __generated__
the RPC method that should be invoked from a client to request it

A new _stream_ `_Service` is introduce, and two related events:

 - `ServiceRegistered`
which is triggered when a new client is registered.
All the related information (`service`, `alias`, `method`) are sent.

 - `ServiceUnregistered`
which is triggered when a client, which previously registered a
   service, disconnects.
Just `service` and `method` are sent.

Jacob Richman 88f8aacd5f Re-apply rolled back CL to apply dartfmt to runtime.
Fix observatory tests broken by running dartfmt due to line and column changes.
Temporarily reverted formatting for evaluate_activation_test.dart as dartfmt doesn't yet handle multitests.

Jacob Richman 15f393f189 Run dartfmt on all files under runtime.
I've omitted files where the formatter output is significantly uglier
than the original code and I'll send those files in a separate CL
with options for how to make the code look reasonable while still
taking advantage of the formatter.

John McCutchan a0ee5b24db Track async causal stack traces
This CL improves the stack traces that accompany exceptions. Whenever an
async function is entered, we remember how we got there. This is similar
in spirit to package:stack_trace but the implementation is more efficient
and memory usage can be more easily reasoned about.

Tracking causal stack traces:

- [x] Upon entry to an async function, capture the synchronous stack trace prefix and store it into the closure.
- [x] Upon entry to an async* function, capture the synchronous stack trace prefix and store it into the closure.
- [x] Before returning from an async function, clear the Thread's asynchronous stack trace.
- [x] After resuming an async function, load the sychronous stack trace prefix into the Thread.
- [x] Filter stack traces to remove async machinery.

Service protocol changes:

- [x] Send causal async stack trace.

Observatory changes:

- [x] Display causal async stack trace below async functions.

Ben Konyi 4024151adb Added isolate + thread high watermark tracking to Observatory
This is a fixed version of c84f30741c90d040254767ff769a40d2cba3fb1a that
resolves issues with comparing uint and intptr_t.

Original Commit Message:
Added tracking of memory usage inside of threads. In addition, the max memory usage is kept track of using a high watermark for both the threads and the isolates. Isolate high watermark information is updated when a thread exits the isolate. The isolate high watermark consists of the sum of all thread high watermarks (including the high watermark of the exiting thread). High watermark information for both threads and isolates is now visible in the isolate view in the Observatory.
