This CL is part of an effort to bump the SDK requirement to `3.12.0-0`
for all the packages in `pkg` that are not published to `pub`, so that
we can get better testing of the "private named parameters" feature.
(Packages that *are* published to `pub` can't be safely bumped yet,
because SDK 3.12 hasn't been released, and I don't want to block those
packages' ability to publish useful updates to customers.)
This change covers the following packages, which are owned by
OWNERS_INFRA:
- pkg/smith
- pkg/status_file
- pkg/test_runner
Changes to `pubspec.yaml` files were made manually.
Changes to `.dart` files were made automatically (with some
exceptions), using `dart fix` to migrate to using private named
parameters where it is possible to do so without changing
semantics. Note that this migration is conservative; see
https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/58607 for details.
The exceptions are:
- pkg/test_runner/lib/src/compiler_configuration.dart
- pkg/test_runner/lib/src/path.dart
These files contained code that triggered the
`use_null_aware_elements` lint, so I manually fixed the instances of
the lint. (The lint didn't previously fire because the test runner
used to be on language version 3.5.0, which was before the "null aware
elements" feature existed.)

Currently, the configuration code only has a boolean option, 'use-elf'
for specifying the output format for gen_snapshot. If false, then the
output format is assumed to be assembly.
Add a new GenSnapshotFormat enum and replace the old 'use-elf' option
with a new 'gen-snapshot-format' option. The new enum has two getters:
* snapshotType returns the appropriate string to pass to gen_snapshot
via the '--snapshot-type' option.
* fileOption returns the name of the option used to specify the
output path for the given format.
In addition, make it so the Configuration only has a non-null
genSnapshotFormat field if the compiler is Compiler.dartkp to avoid
spurious differences in Configurations that are created with different
GenSnapshotFormat values when the configurations in question don't
actually call gen_snapshot.

When running the test runner without a specified architecture, it should
default to the host architecture instead of hard-coded x64.
This matters especially on all new Macs as those are arm64

HWASAN tags stack regions (and stack pointers) with 0,
but also selectively tags some stack allocations with
non-zero tags. These tags need to be cleared when
allocation goes out of scope so that stack can be
later safely reused - otherwise stale tags confuse
HWASAN instrumentation later.
This CL teaches Exceptions::JumpToFrame to do that.
CL also adds basic build changes to support building
with HWASAN, though I don't wire it into CI for now
as it can only really run on Android ARM64

Collects files from `package:async_helper` and `tests/language`
that are generally useful, so that all test-related helpers are
in `package:expect`.
Moves the two libraries from `package:async_helper` into `package:expect`,
and the `tests/language/static_type_helper.dart` file too.
Deprecates `async_minitest.dart`, to follow `minitest.dart`,
expecting the Flutter use of it to have been fixed to not break
on deprecation (I believe Flutter no longer breaks builds on deprecations at all).
Patch 1 is the actual change.
Patch 2+4+8 is changing all existing references to the files.
Patch 6 ignores deprecation in files still using `async_minitest.dart`.
3+5+7+9 are updating this text to make the numbers match.
Then it's just test-expectations and small tweaks from there.

Make API more consistent for a few methods.
Reduce the number of language features used in tests:
* Never iterating an iterable, always converting it
using `.toList()` first and iterating using indices
(fx `setEquals`).
Also require a `List` in places where an `Iterable`
wasn't necessary.
* Avoid doing complicated computations that are also
used for the error message. Do simple check first,
then recompute to get better error messages
(fx `allDistinct`).
Renamed some rarely used members for consistency
(`stringContainsInOrder`->`containsInOrder`,
where other string-contains functions just start
with `contains`, and `containsOneOf` -> `containsAny`
to match `Iterable.any` phrasing, and also it accepts
if containing at least one, not precisely one.)
Removed a function that wasn't used anywhere.
Moved `assertStatementsEnabled` to `variations.dart` as `asserts`.

JSC only supports `print()` but not `console.log()`.
=> The changes to `printToConsole()` are therefore extended

When doing local testing of AOT configurations I need to
manually override use-elf property to shorten cycle time.
Currently this can only be done by editing test_matrix.json,
this CL adds a capability to achieve the same by defining
TEST_CONFIGURATION_OVERRIDES environment variable.
I also fix some incorrect checking code which never triggered before:
if you try (via CLI flag) to override an option which is already
defined by a selected named configuration you should get an error.

Use explicit ddc-options to pass `--canary` flag to the compiler instead
of sniffing for a builder tag.
This just feels more expected and makes more sense if you are trying
to understand how the canary configurations compile tests differently
from the stable configurations.

The --detect-host flag is provided as a convenience for running tests
locally with named configurations. It alters the provided configurations
if needed to match the host system and architecture.
It is an error to use the flag without named configurations or as an
option in the test_matrix.json file.
Add a the `Configuration._cloneHelper()` constructor with all parameters
as required arguments. This provides some compile time feedback when
new fields are added to the class and the clone methods haven't been
updated.
