Zachary Anderson 103881d01c Make header include guards great again
i.e. #ifndef VM_WHATEVER -> #ifndef RUNTIME_VM_WHATEVER

This lets us remove a hack from the PRESUBMIT.py script that existed
for reasons that are no longer valid, and sets us up to add some
presubmit checks for the GN build.

John McCutchan 48c8ffa7f3 Initial isolate reload support
This is a cut of the work that Todd and I collaborated on in the reload branch.

In this CL, we've dropped the loader port hacks, in other words, on stack reloading in the standalone embedder does not work yet.

- [x] Support for hot reloading of isolate source code
- [x] Unit test harness and many tests
- [x] Service protocol and Observatory support
- [x] Product build does not include support for hot reloading.

Srdjan Mitrovic ad6d0bc8a8 Fix a crash in debugger, add flag --stress-test-background-compilation, add asserts.
Fix a crash in debugger: in background compilation check if the function is still marked as optimizable; setting breakpoints at runtime can change that.

Add flag --stress-test-background-compilation which re-feeds compiled functions into the compilation queue.

Add various asserts related to background compilation.

Florian Schneider 117c7b0d3e Initial split of precompilation code from compiler.cc
This removes precompiler code from the regular JIT-mode VM, and allows us to add
more precompilation-specific optimizations without affecting the JIT compiler.

Remove JIT-related code from precompiler pipeline:
No type feedback, no OSR, no deopt, no block reordering, no background compilation

With precompilation, use precompiler pipeline for static initializers and const expressions as well.

Srdjan Mitrovic fe4a5d7672 This adds a mechanism to invalidate code that was generated in the background. The invalidation can happen if a relevant event was invoked between background compilation start and installation of code (e.g, field type invalidatet, subclasses added, deferred loading).
We introduce 3 invalidation generation counters: CHA, field and library prefixes. If one of the counters was incremented during compilation, and is relevant for that compilation, the code installation is skipped since that code may have become invalid in the meantime.

Add BackgroundCompilationResult that remembers the 3 invalidation generations.

The generational counter can rollover, which is OK.

koda@google.com 9c181ec6d5 Thread/Isolate refactoring: new(Isolate*) -> new(Zone*)
Refactor all remaning cases where the current zone is used through new(Isolate*) and remove this interface.

Removing this interface is needed to move towards multiple threads per isolate, and also makes the caller more aware of the scope of the zone used, reducing the risk of use-after-free.

Make the current thread and the stack zone created around native/runtime entries directly available in their body, saving an indirection (and optimized away if unused).

kmillikin@google.com 3e78b2ad4a Reapply "Initial implementation of on-stack replacement (OSR)."
This reapplies SVN r24024 with a bugfix.

After OSR compilation, restore the pre-OSR code (which might be already
optimized) rather than the unoptimized code (which might have its entry
patched). When the optimized code entry is patched it is only safe to call
it as a static call, not as an instance call.

1. The result value of an expression

creates AST nodes and visits them, because the last argument may be needed saved
as a result value.

2. The evaluation order of "super[e1] = e2" was wrong in case of a noSuchMethod call.

turnidge@google.com 9da62c5fea Add Dart_PropagateError.
This function can be used in native functions to properly pass all
errors up the stack.

Set the long jump base in the Compiler instead of outside of the
compiler. A bunch of errors that used to be propagated through the
sticky_error are now propagated through return values. This includes
all of the DartEntry and DartLibraryCall functions.

In particular, we no longer use the long jump to cross dart frames.
Instead errors are propagated across dart frames using the same
mechanism that we use for unhandled exceptions. I've added assertions
to make sure that we only use the long jump when it is "safe".
