Alexander Aprelev 56819231be [vm/shared] Fix LoadStaticField calls initializer behavior.
With b32e5e5a91 under --experimental_shared_data flag, `LoadStaticField` calls initializer stub to confirm presence of isolate when accessing non-shared static fields. This breaks the role that `calls_initializer` attribute/parameter used to play where it was specifically describing neccessity to call initializer, which is important in how `LoadStaticField` instruction is used in static field setters - it should not attempt to call initialzer.

This CL fixes the problem by renaming current `calls_initializer` `LoadStaticFieldInstr` attribute to `does_slow_checks`, and "adding" separate `calls_initializer` parameter to the instruction to signify specifically whether initializer has to be called.

Alexander Markov 1f4707ae0c [vm,dyn_modules] Avoid static calls to bytecode functions from optimized JIT code
Static (direct) calls in the optimized JIT are performed through Code
objects without passing Function objects. This is not compatible with
bytecode interpreter calling conventions, so optimized JIT should
avoid static calls to bytecode functions.

This change disables devirtualized and guarded static calls to
functions declared in bytecode.

Vyacheslav Egorov 8085a97a63 [vm] Fix JumpToFrame execution state transition
Instead of handling FFI related execution state and safepoint
in assembly handle it in runtime code.

The transition needs to be done before JumpToFrame unwinds
stack because unwinding destroys exit frame and this can't
be done at safepoint as GC might be traversing the stack.

An incorrect order of operation was manifesting as crashes in
GC when one isolate in a group was encountering a lot of
exceptions thrown from an FFI call and another isolate is
triggering GCs.

To catch this in the future added a bit of validation to
ExitSafepoint runtime call which triggers when --use-slow-path
is enabled. Though after refactoring this code does not
trigger this code path anymore because it was completely
removed - but it is better than nothing.

This CL also removes a lot of unnecessary complexity which
was associated with handling this transition in the stub
itself.

Tess Strickland 3d0a29d159 [vm/compiler] Allow Slot::Equals to be used with native slots.
Before this change, Slot::Equals would hit the default UNREACHABLE()
case if used to compare two equal native slots. That's surprising and
also unavoidable if code comparing arbitrary slots wants to check Slot
equality, since there's no existing predicate to determine whether an
arbitrary slot is native.

Alexander Markov 8e1c0bce3d [vm,compiler] Fix incorrect handling of unwrapped phi in constant propagation
When constant propagation evaluates EqualityCompare or StrictCompare,
it can unwrap phis (if they are redundant wrt current set of reachable
blocks), and calculate value if both lhs and rhs operands are the same.

Previously, phi was marked as unwrapped only if that calculation changes
the constant value of comparison.

This is not correct as calculation based on unwrapped phi
needs to be invalidated anyway if more reachable blocks are discovered
and unwrapped phi becomes non-redundant.

The fix is to mark the unwrapped phis regardless of whether the constant
value of comparison has been changed or not.

Daco Harkes 5984cc8c24 [vm] Verify transitions in generated code
The transitions in C++ have asserts which run in debug mode to validate
that the transitions are happening in the right order.

The transitions in the generated code had no equivalent. This CL
introduces the equivalent for the generated code.

The transitions to generated code are misnamed currently. They come
from either VM or Native, not only Native. For example the FFI
callbacks and call return sequence can already transition from native
into the VM when entering the safepoint.

These checks don't catch the invalid FFI callbacks.
Bug: https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/60021
These are caught when looking up the FFI metadata:
https://dart-review.googlesource.com/c/sdk/+/407023

This CL omits to implement the check in ia32, since ia32 is scheduled
for removal.

The check is only enabled in debug mode. The asserts for the C++ are
also only run in debug mode. And enabling this check in release for
AOT regresses the parent CL benchmark by ~30% on Mac Arm64.

Vyacheslav Egorov 4bcd8c2b8c [vm/compiler] Prune SSA during construction using liveness
Only insert Phi at JoinEntry and Parameter at CatchBlockEntry if
corresponding variable is alive into the block. This keeps insertion
consistent with environment pruning logic employed by RenameRecursive:
which prunes dead variables out environments when entering the block
based on contents of the live_in set.

Previously we would insert Parameter instructions for dead variables
which lead to an incorrect (unsound) set of catch entry moves
generated by the backend due to an inconsistency between Parameter
insertion and environment pruning logic and the fact that
catch entry moves generator would simply ignore all moves if the
source of the move was an optimized_out (aka constant_dead) marker.

The following situation was possible: if the variable was assigned
inside the try and partially alive inside of it (e.g. we had
blocks where it was alive and blocks where it was not) then we
would end up inserting Parameter for it, but some of the exceptional
edges (corresponding to blocks where the variable was dead) would
carry optimized_out value into that Parameter. However
`CatchEntryMoveFor` would not record these moves leading to
uninitialized garbage arriving on those exceptional edges instead.

Note that Phis were not susceptible to the same issue as Parameters
because regalloc / backend would not treat optimized_out value
specially.

This change converts silent treatment of optimized_out in the
catch entry moves generation into a release assert instead.

Reviewing other uses of constant_dead in the compiler revealed
a bug in canonicalization rule for `o.runtimeType` which
did not take exceptional edges into account. We add a
regression test for that and fix that issue as well.

Lasse R.H. Nielsen b99b43a657 Tweak some X64 assembler instructions to save bytes.
Changes `xorpd(r,r)` and `xorq(r, r)` to `xorps(r,r)` and `xorl(r, r)`, which saves one (REX prefix) byte and still clears the register. (At least if the register is in the first 8, otherwise a REX byte is needed just to name the register. Still better to let the compiler worry about that than hardwiring a 64-bit `q` or `pd` operation.)

Changes `andq` to `AndImmediate` which recognizes that a 32-bit or smaller immediate only needs an `andl` (again potentially saving a REX prefix).

Simplifies the code for clamping an Uint8Clamped value to have fewer branches. (If we know the value is not in the 0..255 range, two instructions can convert all negative values to zero, and all positive values to a value with the lower 8 bit set: `(~v)>>63`.)

Simplifies the code for "is infinite" to use one less 64-bit immediate (by multiplying by 2 to shift out the sign, rather than masking it out using a 63-bit mask.)

Tested: No new behavior, only optimization. Covered by existing tests.

Previously catch blocks were hanging off the function entry blocks being effectively an alternative entry-point into the function. Now catch blocks are hanging off the try-entry blocks.
Previously all the variables that are used in the catch block and beyond were declared as parameters to catch block. Now only those that have their definitions not dominating catch entry will become parameters (for example, if a variable is assigned in the try-block, it becomes a parameter to catch block).
During OSR, if OSR target entry point is inside some try-blocks, then all of corresponding try-entry/catch-blocks are pulled up to the OSR entry forming a chain that ends with a jump to the OSR target entry.

Alexander Markov bd44f1fd82 [vm/compiler] Simplify range analysis by removing range sizes
Concept of range sizes is artificial and sometimes over-approximated
as it doesn't match representations used in IL instructions.
It is replaced by "full range" derived from representation.

Also, this change removes a bit of Smi-specific logic which cannot be
extended for arbitrary integers.
