Alexander Markov b083c9ac87 [dyn_modules] Handle implicit uses from const constructors and field initializers of const classes
When const constructor is exposed through a dynamic interface,
dynamic module can create constants with that const constructor and
it can reference everything used in that constructor including default
values of parameters and field initializers. So dynamic interface
annotator should visit bodies of const constructors and add all
references to implicit uses.

Annotator should also visit initializers of instance fields of
classes which can be used in a constant (as they participate in
the constant evaluation too). Kernel trim tool should not remove such
field initializers.

Mixin transformation copies members of a mixin into a mixin
application class. Copied members should still behave similarly to
original members in terms of overriding.

When validating a dynamic module, overriding a copy of mixin

When annotating AST with dynamic interface pragmas, can-be-overridden

Chloe Stefantsova 1f26ddfee2 [ffi] Account for position variance in converting native types
This CL introduces variance-dependent treatment of the `Handle` native
type when converting native types to Dart types. Since `Handle` can
represent any object, it should match any type. To achive that in
cases when `Handle` appears as the subtype in the subtype checks, it's
converted to `Never` in covariant positions and to `Object?` in
covariant ones.

Alexander Markov d039e2865b [tfa,aot,dart2wasm] More precise intersection of a wide cone type with an empty cone type
When cone type has a large number of allocated subtypes, TFA uses
symbolic wide cone type as a faster approximation to speed up
the analysis.

Intersection of wide cone type C1+ with cone type C2+ when
there is no subtyping relation between C1 and C2 results in
approximate type C1+. As a result, analysis may fail to determine
that certain type test will never succeed.

This change improves precision of cone and wide cone intersections
and unions in case cone type has an empty specialization
(no allocated subtypes).

Nate Biggs b3e7e2fbbd [dart2wasm] Serialize dill before and after TFA for dynamic module enabled main modules.
Modifies the serialization strategy used for dynamic modules. Emits 2 dill files, main.dill and main.opt.dill.

main.dill serialized before TFA runs and is used by the CFE to compile the dynamic module faster (it doesn't have to recompile the main module libraries from source).

main.opt.dill is serialized at the end of the compilation of the main module and contains a copy of all the main module libraries after TFA. This dill is used by dart2wasm to produce consistent references into the main module.

Also emit new record classes into a distinct library so that all downstream code will appropriately emit the new code without special logic.

Alexander Markov 733ca506c1 [dynamic modules] Add pragmas to core library classes and members used to implement language features
This change adds pragmas which can be used in dart:* libraries to
specify classes and members which are used by the compiler
to implement certain language features. Compiler can insert
references to those classes and members when desugaring language
constructs, so dynamic module code can use these classes and members
implicitly even if they are private.

Previously, we required to specify these members in the
dynamic_interface.yaml before dynamic modules could use them.
However, this is cumbersome and error-prone.

Now, the following pragmas are recognized:

@pragma('dyn-module:language-impl:extendable')
@pragma('dyn-module:language-impl:can-be-overridden')
@pragma('dyn-module:language-impl:callable')

If dynamic interface yaml file is specified during compilation,
then classes/members annotated with these pragmas are treated as if
they are used in corresponding sections of dynamic_interface.yaml.

If dynamic interface yaml file is not specified, these pragmas
are ignored.

Bug: b/395992622

There were `pubspec.yaml` files in `tools/` that were not
included in the global package config.
That means that their imports were irrelevant, which could
be misleading. And if any tool would look at the
`pubspec.yaml` file, it might be inconsistent with
the actual package resolution.

Makes every `pubspec.yaml` file either be included by the
`tools/generate_package_config.dart` script, or deletes them
if they seem to be stale and unused.
(Compare vs. `git ls-files '**/pubspec.yaml'`.)

Excepted `tools/dart2js/sourceMapViewer/pubspec.yaml`.
The entire directory might be stale. The dependencies of
that pubspec are not SDK dependencies otherwise,
the pubspec has no SDK min-version, which is now a requirement,
and the README refers to a *packages directory*.
Keeping as-is and filing issue to have owners take a look.

Added `lib/` directory to `tools/` to avoid `tools/bots/`
being inside the package URI root of the `tools/` package,
which would cause its `../../pkg/...` import to fail.

Makes every `pubspec.yaml` file use a `^...` SDK constraint instead
of the longer `>= ... < ...` format.

Tested: No new tests, goal is to keep running the same way

Generated Record `==` methods begin by doing a type check on the argument. Today this is implemented as an interface subtype check like `other is <ThisRecordType>`. This generally ends up being a class ID check. For dynamic modules, the class ID is not statically known so the type test fails.

Instead for dynamic modules we can have the `==` do a full check against the RTI object using `_checkInstance`. This will correctly check the structure of the type rather than just the class ID.

Michael Goderbauer c326065c3f [vm/ffi] Exposes an iterable Array.elements
For the arrays of the Int/Uint/Float/Double types this has been
implemented straight in the ffi_patch.dart file and `elements` returns a
typed-data list view on the original data backing the array.

The Bool and Pointer arrays return helper classes from their `elements`
getter. These helper classes implement the `List` interface utilizing
the `operator []` implementation of the underlying arrays. This is also
implemented directly in the ffi_patch.dart file.

The `elements` getter for array arrays is rewritten in the CFE
(use_sites.dart) to instantiate a helper class to which the size of a
single element of the array is passed (this information is not available
in ffi_patch.dart, hence the rewrite in the CFE). The helper class
implements the `List` interface and performs some pointer arithmetic
with the provided element size to implement its methods.

The `elements` getters for struct and union arrays are also rewritten in
the CFE to instantiate a helper class to which a constructor tearoff for
instantiating the underlying struct/union type is passed. The helper
class also implements the `List` interface and uses the provided
constructor tearoff to create instantiated structs/unions of the
elements in the list.

Last, but not least, the `elements` getter for abi-specific integer
arrays is also rewritten in the CFI to instantiate a helper class to
which a closure is provided to load abi specific integers from the
underlying array data structure.

Tess Strickland acd16c6aa7 [pkg/vm] Add tool for generating DartEngine shims from entry points.
This is an initial cut of a tool for automatically creating shims for
C/C++ programs using the entry point annotations in Dart code. The tool
has two required arguments:

* the .dill file containing the kernel representation of the Dart code
* the base path of the header and implementation files to create

With a base path of 'dir/name', the header file is created as
'dir/name.h' and the implementation file is created as 'dir/name.cc'.
In addition, 'dir/name.h' is used as a basis for creating a
#ifndef/#define/#endif header guard around the header contents.

The created shims are specific to a single package, either

* a user-specified package, provided via '-p'/'--package', or
* the package of the main method

If the user does not specify a package and there is no main method
in the .dill file, the tool fails.

Each shim takes the following arguments in order when applicable:

* the isolate in which to perform the requested operation,
* the instantiated type of the generic class (for invoking, setting, or
getting constructors, static methods, and static fields)
* the instance (for invoking, getting, or setting instance methods and
  fields)
* the type arguments (for retrieving nullable or non-nullable
instantiated types of a generic class)
* the arguments (for invoking, setting, or getting constructors,
  methods, and fields)

The generated shims:

* cache the package library, types for non-generic classes, and
types for generic classes instantiated with default type arguments.
The cached persistent handles are cleared if any of the methods
are called with a different isolate from the one used to populate
  the cache.
* automatically handle conversions between C int64_t <=> Dart int
and C double <=> Dart double.

By default, shims are not created for allocation or initializing
uninitialized instances. To create such shims, use the '-u' command
line argument.

Currently, shims are not created for methods that take optional
or named arguments. To report an error if a shim cannot be created
for any entry points, use the '-e' command line argument.

Alexander Markov 1b6f89d284 [vm, tfa] Fix tree-shaking of late final fields with initializers
TFA tree shaker removes initializers of fields which cannot be accessed
but retained due to an entry point pragma / dynamic interface.

For late final fields with initializers that changes semantics as
late final fields without initializers have an implicit setter.
Such setter is not accounted in the kernel AST
(Field.setterReference == null and Field.hasSetter == false) and
it doesn't get an assigned selector id, which causes a crash in
dispatch table generator.

The change fixes this bug by retaining initializers for late final
fields. The initializer code is still replaced with
throw "Attempt to execute code removed by Dart AOT compiler (TFA)".

When a field gets never read TFA may remove the field entirely. The
initializer of the field may still need to be executed as it may have
side-effects. The initializer is then moved to a `LocalInitializer` with
a unused variable.

Currently this variable is typed `dynamic` but could be strenghtened to
be the type of the field, which this CL does.

The usage of `dynamic` can have problems for some backends that have
types that aren't part of the Dart object hierarchy (e.g. a
`WasmArray`). Those types cannot flow into top types as they are not
real Dart objects. By typing the `LocalInitializer` variable the same as
the field type, we avoid assigning such foreign, no-Dart objects to
variables of Dart top-type.

Martin Kustermann 20fc102287 [dart2wasm] Switch to only using JS strings
Currently we have 3 different string types (JS Strings, OneByteString
and TwoByteString)s. There's some advantages to this, mainly that
if strings are used purely inside Dart we have more control over
optimizing them. But it does come with some issues

* Operations on mixture of strings are slow
* We get JS strings from outside (in DevTools e.g. websocket messages)
* Any kind of DOM interaction requires copying strings
* Regular expression matches can result in O(N*N) instead of O(N)
* Encoding of string literals/constants is terrible, high size overhead
* ...

Now that there's a standardized way to access JS strings (via
the `js-string` builtin spec) and this standard is finalized and
enabled in Chrome & Firefox it makes sense for us to switch to it.

It reduces app size:

* Smaller size: hello world -25%, flute -5.5%
* Faster startup

The performance changes are nuanced, some workloads will improve
significantly, some workloads will regress.

Improvements will come especially in cases where
strings are concatenated (due to JS not actually allocating new
strings in this case). That impacts e.g. string interpolations,
string buffer, json-to-string encoding, ...

Regressions will come especially for cases where we have to
construct strings from bytes (e.g. in utf8 decoder, utf8+json
decoder) - mainly due to having to go through an intermediary
`WasmArray<WasmI16>` to allocate strings. Also in cases where we
access individual char codes from the strings.

There's some follow-up improvements we can do, but it's better to
not iterate on this CL even longer but get it landed.

This CL will make the benchmarking system use
`--require-js-string-builtin` as well as most of test CI
(in `pkg/dart2wasm/tool/compile_benchmark`)

Though we run some configurations via overriding with
`--no-require-js-string-builtin`
(in `tools/bots/test_matrix.json`)

Tess Strickland 1ac77f57dd [vm] Align entry point verification and the precompiler.
For entry-point pragma annotations, most of the time they are
used with either no argument or with an argument that evaluates
to either

* false to denote the annotation should not take effect, or
* null or true to denote the annotation should take effect.

However, the user can also specify that only part of the operations
on a member should be accessed from native code by using a string
argument that is either 'call', 'set', or 'get'.

The entry point verification in Invoke/InvokeGetter/InvokeSetter
assumes that for getters and setters, the only valid string argument
is 'get' or 'set', respectively. This is because those methods are
called via `Dart_GetField`[0] and `Dart_SetField`, respectively, as if
they were the getter or setter of a defined field.

However, the precompiler previously assumed that the string
argument 'call' was the only string argument that meant the link
to a function's code object should be saved. Similarly, it assumed the
string argument 'get' for functions meant that their implicit closure
function should be saved, which ends up including getters. Furthermore,
it did not do anything with setters annotated with the string argument
'set'. This means that the code link would not be saved for getters or
setters that were annotated with the string argument expected by the
entry point verifier.

This CL aligns the precompiler to match the expectations of other
parts of the codebase. It also changes TFA to report an error
if a getter or setter is marked with the string argument 'call'.

[0] `Dart_Invoke` can be called with the name of a getter that
returns a closure, but doing so is semantically equivalent to
calling `Dart_GetField` followed by `Dart_InvokeClosure`.
