Alexander Markov c20f9eaf6f [vm/ffi] Cleanup FFI call trampolines
After [1], FFI call sequence is generated inside a Dart closure
function and separate FFI call trampolines are no longer used.
This change removes all code related to FFI call trampolines.

Alexander Markov b9045af57b [vm] Cleanup lookups in the library import
Lookup in the library import can be very slow and it is not needed
most of the time. This change makes Library::Lookup{Class,Function,Field}[AllowPrivate]
lookups local in the library and cleans up related or unused code.

Tess Strickland cf63eaed4d [vm] Remove overlap between Function and FunctionType.
Previously there were several pieces of information shared between
both FunctionType and Function, mostly in the packed fields, but
named argument names were also kept in both places.

Now the FunctionType is the primary source for this information, with
the Function only keeping the names of positional arguments, which are
discarded in AOT snapshots.

This does mean extra work to access this information via the function
object, but for the most part, this information is only accessed in the
compiler or during dynamic lookups or checks in the runtime.

After adding the count of type parameters to the packed information
in FunctionType, the packed information has been split into two pieces:
one for parameter counts, another for type parameter counts. This
split does not increase the size of UntaggedFunctionType, as there
were 2 bytes available in the existing padding.

Changes on flutter gallery in release mode:

* ARM7 code size: total -0.91%, readonly -0.22%, isolate -4.32%
* ARM7 heap size: total -2.00%
* ARM8 code size: total -0.93%, readonly -0.22%, isolate -4.32%
* ARM8 heap size: total -2.12%

Changes on flutter gallery in release-sizeopt mode:

* ARM7 code size: total -0.24%, readonly -0.08%, isolate -1.49%
* ARM7 heap size: total -0.88%
* ARM8 code size: total -0.26%, readonly -0.11%, isolate -1.49%
* ARM8 heap size: total -1.01%

Ryan Macnak b1c09ecd8f [vm] Make naming more consistent when converting between handles, tagged and untagged pointers.
Currently we have things called XPtr which are not what you get from ptr().

Old world:
handle->raw() returns RawObject* (tagged)
raw_obj->ptr() returns RawObject* (untagged)

After 6fe15f6df9:
handle->raw() returns ObjectPtr
obj_ptr->ptr() returns ObjectLayout*

New world:
handle->ptr() returns ObjectPtr
obj_ptr->untag() returns UntaggedObject*

Alexander Aprelev 37abbb2e3d [vm/concurrency] Introduce program_lock to guard program structure changes.
This CL adds acquisiton of write lock and check for whether write lock is held when updating class functions, primarily populated during class finalization. Read locks will be added in successive CLs, so is extending of the locks coverage to all aspects of program structure changes.

Alexander Aprelev a7c612e187 [vm/resolution] Wrap few Class::Lookup.*FunctionUnsafe() methods in Resolver::Resolve.*() methods.
Add "Unsafe" suffix to those Class::Lookup* methods to indicate they will need program
structure protection locking.

This allows to localize program structure protection locking inside of those Resolver methods.

Martin Kustermann 06183779d7 [vm/compiler] Make the compiler use dyn:* selectors when calling getters
We already make the callsites use dyn:* selectors for normal method
calls as well as setters, this is doing the same thing for getters.

Once callsites use dyn:get:* various pieces in runtime need to be
adjusted to accomodate for that (e.g. NSM handling, etc).

A follow-up CL will then start actually generating dyn:* getters in
certain situations.

Régis Crelier 5701c4fd3b [VM/nnbd] Remove propagation of library mode to runtime after spec change.
On 1/27/20, the nnbd specification changed weak and strong mode instance checks
to make them behave uniformly across legacy and opted-in libraries.
Therefore, it is not necessary anymore to propagate the library mode in
generated code to the runtime.

Régis Crelier e2e290b4cf [VM/nnbd] Simplify NNBDMode enum class.
NNBDMode does not reflect the semantics (legacy or nnbd) of type tests anymore.
Instead, the semantics are derived from the value of the strong mode flag.
This required one function to be specialized, namely the implementation of
'null is Type' in weak mode in an opted-in library, which still requires
nnbd semantics although run in weak mode.
Relevant changes are in object.h and object.cc:
- methods NNBD_NullIsInstanceOf and NNBD_IsTopType are new.
- methods IsNullType, IsTopType, and IsNeverType are modified.

Alexander Markov 125ed45eff [vm] Fix ResolveDynamicAnyArgs to avoid returning incorrect method extractor
Consider the following situation:

class A { foo() {...} }
class B extends A { foo() {...} }

During AOT compilation (in case FLAG_lazy_dispatchers == false)
Resolver::ResolveDynamicAnyArgs was not looking for possible methods
when getter is requested. As a result, if method extractor A.get:foo
has been created, but B.get:foo hasn't, then lookup for B.get:foo
incorrectly returns A.get:foo (instead of null).

Similar situation was previously fixed for a particular call site of
ResolveForReceiverClass (which uses ResolveDynamicAnyArgs):

However, there are more calls to ResolveForReceiverClass in the compiler
where its incorrect result may be used.

Martin Kustermann aa9ce0f122 Revert "[vm] Repair the resolver abstraction, take 2."
This reverts commit d79787771e.

Reason for revert:

This caused significant performance regressions on our protobuf_decode* benchmarks (probably on more benchmarks, but we don't yet have results due to some perf infra issue).

To avoid letting the regressions land for downstream users we'll revert it.

We should measure performance impact before landing this again.

Vyacheslav Egorov 20ca5bbb05 [vm/jit] Introduce dynamic invocation forwarders that perform type checking
This forwarders are used at dynamic call-sites and perform type checking
for all non-generic-covariant arguments. This allows to skip the same
type checks in the actual method body.

This yield on average 10% improvement in performance across the body of
benchmarks including dart2js compilation times.

Ivan Posva 5be5d54529 - Refactor Symbol allocation to expect a thread parameter.

Florian Schneider b870dafa4f VM: Separate precompilation-specific code, make flags const.
Move optimizations for precompilation into separate file.

Remove precompilation-specific code from flow_graph_optimizer.cc.

Add precompilation-flags: They are const in the precompiled runtime. Started moving flags to use the new flag-definition macros.

Add libdart_lib_precompiled target.

Define PRECOMPILED_RUNTIME_MACRO in more places (dart_precompiled_runtime)

Srdjan Mitrovic 8e23dcced3 Make function lookup in classes thread-safe:
- Do not create/add function when looking them up  in TryCreatICData
- Do not allow background compilation to add/remove functions
- Cache function hash array as it may change or be set to null.

Check VMObject only if FLAG_verify_handles is true.

rmacnak@google.com ecdee95907 Separate is_debuggable and is_visible again. The outer async functions (that produce the Futures or Streams) should be visible but not debuggable. Visible so their frames are included in stacktraces for return type errors during checked mode. Not debuggable so breakpoints are resolved to the function that implements the async body.

Simplify debugger logic. Any function can be marked as
non-debuggable when is is created. The debugger no longer
needs a heuristic which functions are debuggable.
Mostly used for synthetic, generated functions that
have no source code, e.g. async code, implicit getters and
setters, implicit constructors, forwarding constructors,
dispatcher functions.

hausner@google.com ac559f643a Introduce cache of resolved names in library
A name that is not resolved in the local scope gets looked up
in the global scope of the library to which the code being compiled
belongs. The local name dictionary gets searched first, then the
dictionary of each imported library (and and their re-exported
libraries.) Each dictionary lookup includes the lookup of the
mangled getter and setter names, which means that we concatenate
the same name many times.

This change introduces a cache that stores the result of a previous
name lookup, including negative lookup results. The latter is important
to speed up the resolution of names that are not in the global name
space, e.g. class members like .length in lists.

Experiments running dart2js (with VM option --compile_all) show
that this reduces the number of name mangling calls by a factor of 10
and speeds up compiling dart2js by 15%.

fschneider@google.com cd54507fc2 Mark native functions when they are created.
Until now the parser marked native functions as native when parsing.

This may be too late for some functions. E.g. the native typed list
constructor may not be invoked because the intrinsic code is executed
instead (unless for example new-space allocation fails).

This causes missing type information when optimizing functions using
those recognized factory functions like Uint8List._new.
