Aart Bik fa6fce61fa [dart/vm] Improved inlining methods and heuristics
Rationale:
Previous method cached graph information (instruction and call site
counts) on a per-function level, not accounting for potential
specializations. The improved method runs an extra constant folding
pass, and only caches per-function information for non-specialized
cases. As a result, we inling much better, see for example, the
added test as illustration.

Since we no longer cache for constants, compile-time may be increased
a bit due to the extra scan. In the long run we should consider
for common constant "situations" as the call site.

Aart Bik dbfcb97fa5 [dart/vm]: sometimes a smi is just a smi
Rationale:
The IA32 codegen has the concept of "safe smis", which
can actually be larger "mints" that can be constructed
in a safe way (e.g. shifting). However, at a few places,
this caused confusion, since following code assumed
that such values can be casted to "smis" always.
This CL fixes that. Found with DartFuzz.

Aart Bik 9070d6ae61 [dart/vm] Inspect shift constant in absence of range analysis
Rationale:
Queries the constant of a shift operation to determine if it
is in range when range analysis has not run. This seems in general
a good idea, since some optimizations occur *after* range analysis,
and we were missing those cases. In this particular case, it also
avoids an assert fail on a shift by one without env() that was
introduced by a pass that has no subsequent range analysis. In
this case, it is unclear whether not having an env() was an
accident, or on purpose since the shift factor is known to
be well-behaved. Please have a careful look!

Aart Bik 5c7b07f783 [dart/vm] Fix bug in kernel binary flow graph builder
Rationale:
Found by DartFuzz. One of the trickier bugs I had to debug.
While building the flow graph from kernel, the finalizer
builder expects the program context to be in the same state
as when the finalizer was seen first, not the context seen
by the breaking/continuing statement. This was done partially,
but only partially. Finding loop context or breakable
and switchable blocks was missing. Something only
a fuzzer can find :-)

optimize this case by masking with maxint64 pattern

Alexander Markov 3b29f5ad81 [VM/AOT/TFA] Do not attribute calls via fields/getters with inference results
MethodInvocation nodes which have field or getter as interface target
actually correspond to 2 calls: 1) getter; 2) implicit call() on the result
of the getter.

While this was correctly modeled in summaries in TFA, it is not correct
to attribute such MethodInvocation nodes with results of the inference,
as results correspond to an each distinct call. To fix this, Call
statements in summaries are created without attaching them to a
corresponding kernel AST node.

Aart Bik 914065d80b [vm/compiler] Use loop framework for register allocator
Rationale:
Rather than relying on a separate loop detector, rely
on the new loop framework, which avoids code duplication
and ensures any improvement in loop detection/handling
will benefit this phase too. Note, most of the time, the
same loops are discovered with a few exceptions (which
is okay, since this is "just" heuristic usage). This CL
also simplifies loop detection a bit.

Martin Kustermann 06f9a9e354 [VM] Introduce function and osr entrypoints to the VM's IR
Similar to how we treat catch entry instructions, this cl adds new
function and osr entry instructions. The [FunctionEntry] and
[OsrEntry] - just like [CatchBlockEntry] - have now their own initial
definitions. The [GraphEntry] has only initial definitions for
constants.

Explicit phis are inserted for all parameter / special parameter
instructions if necessary.

Future work is:

  a) Minimize parallel moves due to the phis on parameters
  b) Cleanup frame setup: Move it entirely into FunctionEntry/CatchEntry
(instead of the split version we have now)

Martin Kustermann 0b78ac7f38 [VM] Add regression test for buildbot flakiness due to smi-widening optimization in VM
The added test in this CL causes code to be optimized with _Smi's and
eliminated field guards. Field guards were eliminated due to usage of Smi ops,
which get removed due to the WidenSmiToInt32 optimization.
A use of the code with _Mint's will then trigger a test failure.

The WidenSmiToInt32 optimization has been disabled for the time being.

Martin Kustermann 609d2770be Reland "[VM] Add new SymbolConstant to package:kernel/ast.dart"
The canonicalization of symbols needs to take library privacy into
account. Since the Symbol class itself only has a [_name] field but does
not reference in which library the symbol came from, the [_name] must be
mangled.

Mangling is done by backends and so we make a new [SymbolConstant] which
the backends can desugar by doing appropriate mangling and construction
of a [Symbol] instance.

Aart Bik fe6daed58b [vm/compiler] "fast"-path for x64 division
Rationale:
Since 64-bit division requires twice as many cycles
and has much higher latency compared to the 32-bit

a 32-bit "fast path" makes sense.

Martin Kustermann 575a8f8381 [VM] Extend subtype-test mechanism with support for generic methods
Until now the subtype-test cache mechanism did not work (i.e. could
return the wrong result) for partially instantiated generic closures.

Additionally, closures which close over generic methods were always
handled in runtime. This caused a servere performance regression for
any code hitting this (e.g. code which uses `package:stack_trace`).
