Alexander Markov da8cb470cc [vm/bytecode] Represent classes, libraries, scripts and recursive types in bytecode
Size of a large application:
Before: 26628600
After: 21480120 (-19.3%)

Size of snapshots:

isolate_snapshot_framework.bin
Before: 9322496
After: 6782976 (-27.2%)

isolate_snapshot_product_framework.bin
Before: 9166848
After: 6602752 (-27.9%)

Regressions in tests:

1) Test language_2/type_alias_equality_test/04 fails similarly to default mode, as VM
does not implement comparison of function types according to the specification.
Previously this test was passing as function types were canonicalized in bytecode,
which was not always correct. This CL fixes the problem with canonicalization of
function types in bytecode and the test starts failing again.

2) Tests standalone_2/entrypoints_verification_test, standalone_2/io/test_extension_test,
standalone_2/io/test_extension_fail_test fail as native extensions are not supported
in bytecode yet. These tests start passing after df5e7aac17,
which switched bytecode tests to kernel service (on x64), because kernel service doesn't
drop ASTs. This CL switches from reading AST library declarations to bytecode even if
AST is not removed, so tests fail again.

dart-bytecode, arm64: +4.742% geomean
dart-bytecode-jit-unopt, arm64: +12.73% geomean
dart2js-compile, x64: +3.635% geomean

In the polymorphic and unlinked cases, call to a stub the does a linear scan against an ICData.

In the monomorphic case, call to a prologue of the expected target function that checks the expected receiver class. There is additional indirection in the JIT version compared to the AOT version to also tick a usage counter so the inliner can make good decisions.

In the megamorphic case, call to a stub that does a hash table lookup against a MegamorphicCache.

Megamorphic call sites face a loss of precision in usage counts. The call site count is not recorded and the usage counter of the target function is used as an approximation.

Monomorphic and megamorphic calls sites are reset to the polymorphic/unlinked state on hot reload.

Monomorphic and megamorphic calls sites do not check the stepping state, so they are reset to the polymorphic/unlinked state when stepping begins and disabled.

Back-edges now increment the usage counter in addition to checking it. This ensures function with loops containing monomorphic calls will eventually cross the optimization threshold.

Fixed backwards use of kMonomorphicEntryOffset and kPolymorphicEntryOffset.

Fixed C stack overflow when bouncing between the KBC interpreter and a simulator.

Martin Kustermann ab6aeaa106 [vm/kernel] Use GC-tracked ExternalTypedData/TypedDataView for kernel buffers
Until now we often leaked kernel buffers (e.g. hot reload buffers) because various
objects were referencing ExternalTypedData objects pointing into the middle of
c-allocated memory. This made it impossible for the GC to determine when the last
reference is gone.

This CL ensures that the actual buffers are *always* made available via
ExternalTypedData and any inner pointers into it are created via TypedDataViews.

The embedder guarantees to the free kernel buffers it has provided to:
    - Dart_CreateIsolateFromKernel
    - Dart_LoadScriptFromKernel
    - Dart_LoadLibraryFromKernel
    - Dart_SetDartLibrarySourcesKernel
on isolate shutdown.

All other kernel buffers will get a finalizer attached, which ensures the
kernel buffers get freed by the GC once they are no longer referenced:
    - Kernel blobs for expression evaluation
    - Kernel blobs for Hot-Reload
    - Kernel blobs for cc tests

Martin Kustermann aa9ce0f122 Revert "[vm] Repair the resolver abstraction, take 2."
This reverts commit d79787771e.

Reason for revert:

This caused significant performance regressions on our protobuf_decode* benchmarks (probably on more benchmarks, but we don't yet have results due to some perf infra issue).

To avoid letting the regressions land for downstream users we'll revert it.

We should measure performance impact before landing this again.

Ryan Macnak 9e1adc54a7 [vm] When loading a compilation trace, speculatively populate ICData based on the receiver's static type.
If the receiver's static type has one concrete implementation, lookup the target for that implementation and add it to the ICData's entries. For some well-known interfaces, do the same for the most common concrete implementation (e.g., int -> _Smi).

Avoids method resolution during application startup.

Vyacheslav Egorov f496e538f4 [vm] Decouple assemblers from runtime.
This is the next step towards preventing compiler from directly peeking
into runtime and instead interact with runtime through a well defined
surface. The goal of the refactoring to locate all places where compiler
accesses some runtime information and partion those accesses into two
categories:

- creating objects in the host runtime (e.g. allocating strings, numbers, etc)
during compilation;
- accessing properties of the target runtime (e.g. offsets of fields) to
embed those into the generated code;

This change introduces dart::compiler and dart::compiler::target namespaces.

All code in the compiler will gradually be moved into dart::compiler namespace.
One of the motivations for this change is to be able to prevent access to
globally defined host constants like kWordSize by shadowing them in the
dart::compiler namespace.

The nested namespace dart::compiler::target hosts all information about
target runtime that compiler could access, e.g. compiler::target::kWordSize
defines word size of the target which will eventually be made different
from the host kWordSize (defined by dart::kWordSize).

The API for compiler to runtime interaction is placed into compiler_api.h.

Note that we still permit runtime to access compiler internals directly -
this is not going to be decoupled as part of this work.

John McCutchan f43b48e34d Support reloading from source on top of a script snapshot.
- [x] Add arguments `rootLibUri` and `packagesUri` to the reload service rpc. These allow the uri of the root library and the .packages files to be overridden.
- [x] When pairing libraries during reload, support the base url changing.

Ryan Macnak 7ff2dd4117 Optimize AOT's switchable calls for the monomorphic case.
The call sequence is very similar to a classic IC call, except the guarded class and the target are loaded indirectly from the constant pool instead of as immediates. In the monomorphic case, we call directly to the expected target with a class check in the callee. In the unlinked, polymorphic and megamorphic cases, we call a stub; these case are now call-through instead of call-and-return.

Every code, except stubs involved in switchable calls, includes the class check sequence at the beginning. So we now distinguish between a checked and an unchecked entry point. Generated code except the switchable call continues to use the unchecked entry point.

PC offsets are calculated relative to the beginning of the instruction stream, rather than either entry point.

Ryan Macnak 19716b351a Reset most ICs by returning to the canonical empty data arrays.
We can't do this for the binary operators because they must be writable and not shared for the fast Smi op stubs to record invocation counts.

Suspected to help avoid races, see Issue #26946.

Also remove some dead code and avoid TLS.

John McCutchan 059470cf85 Make all reload zone allocations use the same zone

- [x] Rename some methods.
- [x] Made most methods on IsolateReloadContext private.

John McCutchan c692a64e5a Rework how enums are implemented and reloaded
- Enum instances now hold their index and their label. Before the labels were held in a static array to the side and the index was used to look up the label.

- Before and after reload enum instances are now paired (by label) and put into the 'become' table.
