cshapiro@google.com 44daee3e6c Ignore deleted handles when processing weak roots. 
Previously, deleted weak persistent handles in live handle blocks were
always assumed live.  With this change, dead handles are always ignored.

When a handle is deleted NULL is stored into the raw object member. This
looks like a Smi encoded 0.  As the handle blocks do not otherwise encode
which elements are live in an allocated block, the garbage collector now
uses this signal to distinguish live handles from deleted handles.

sgjesse@google.com b4d571dcdd Handle stdio redirection in standalone VM 
The recent change to epoll on Linux and kqueue on Mac OS for getting
notifications from file descriptors caused the redirection of stdin,
stdout and stderr for the stand alone VM to stop working.

On Linux epoll failed when file descriptor 0, 1 or 2 redirected from
or to a file war registered. On Mac OS there was just no events
generated from kqueue.

The streams created for stdio, stdout and stderr is now of the correct
type and for file redirections no longer a socket object holding a
file descriptor for a regular file.

Added testing of stdio redirection using both pipes and files. These
tests are currently skipped on Windows.

Fixed handlin of short socket read when reading the process exit code.

Always close the socket port when not waiting for any events.

The thread pool has been refactored to hold all implementation state
in the ThreadPool class and have all internal state protected by a
single monitor.

Added support for starting and stopping the same pool several
times. When stopping the queue can be drained or not.

Added two tests which handles messages.

cshapiro@google.com e8f396df7e Add external byte array API and finalize external strings and byte arrays. 
This change adds peer and callback arguments to the external byte array
constructor and moves the peer, callback, and data storage into a VM
peer object.  At construction time, a weak persistent handle and VM
callback is associated with the VM peer.  The VM callback will delete
the VM peer and invokes the user callback to reclaim the user peer.

This change also activates the callback support for the various classes of
external strings.

Adding a new kind of PcDescriptor to mark the location of
function returns in generated code. This will be needed to
put a single-step breakpoint just before the function return.

Also adding a NOP instruction after the ret, so that the
function return code pattern adds up to 5 bytes, which is needed
to patch in a breakpoint call.

The tests did not wait for the server isolate to finish before
exiting the main isolate.

The tests did not correctly count the number of bytes received on
the server-side. We have to count bytes per connection.

There were issues with close handlers being confused for timeouts.

srdjan@google.com 1d7d76a43b Optimizing code generator expects that every AST node is traversed once, i.e., the nodes are not reused. Unfortunately this is not the case in assignment operations with arrays (e.g. a[i] += 3). 
The proper solution would be to clone array and index nodes but that would require too many changes. Long term we can't / won't use AST nodes for optimization purposes.
Short term fix is here: load array and index and release their CodeGenInfo before value is traversed so that the value computation can set its own CodeGenInfo on the same node.

Rename the field holding type parameter bounds of a class.

Note: I retract my earlier suggestion to Srdjan to represent interfaces of a

more code to check for an empty array and for growing the array. Besides, these
are really arrays and have nothing to do with type arguments. I removed the
corresponding TODO(srdjan).

sgjesse@google.com 3481c5661a Decode the Dart message into a Dart_CMessage structure before calling the native port callback 
The native port callback is now passed the message as a decodes
Dart_CMessage structure. The Dart_CMessage structure is allocated
in a zone and the callback receiving it should expect the
lifetime to be controlled by the caller.

Added support for zones which do not require a current
isolate. Changed the GrowableArray to support allocating in
aprovided zone instead of the zone for the current isolate.

Additionally, allow File.openOutputStream to take a FileMode enum (only FileMode.WRITE and FileMode.APPEND is allowed).
