Samir Jindel 9a683de40d [vm] Support testing assembly snapshots for ARM.
We have had several bugs propagate to Flutter end-users due to our lack of testing of
AOT Assembly snapshots on ARM (SIMARM_X64 in particular), causing reverts of SDK commits
and disrupting the Dart -> Flutter roll.

This leverages our custom ELF loader to load the generated ELF objects, which cannot be
loaded by dlopen() because they are marked with the ARM ABI.

For example, see:
  - https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/40114
  - https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/41228

Also do some tree-shaking of the snapshot writers for dart_precompiled_runtime.

Ryan Macnak 84db16381d [vm] Remove dead --load_deferred_eagerly and dependent code tracking for library prefixes.
Since Dart 2, library prefixes are always loaded eagerly on the VM.

Also remove reload check for deferred prefixes. This check was added to avoid behavior of library prefixes giving spurious "not loaded" errors after a reload, but now this error can never occur. Resolves a difference in reload between AST and bytecode modes, since bytecode mode isn't surfacing the deferred property.

Martin Kustermann fc54f900de [vm] Cleanup some outdated code from hot-reload (and deferred loading)
Hot-reload used to be implemented by calling a tag handler (i.e. embedder),
which would load new Dart source code and call recursively into hot reloading
code.

=> This no longer happens, since the hot reload implementation obtains and
   loads the kernel diffs itself in isolate_reload.cc.

With the switch to the Dart 2.0 CFE the VM no longer supports any kind of
deferred library loading. The CFE provides the VM with all sources together.

This CL cleans up some unnecessary code and outdated comments.

Alexander Aprelev 0425997b31 Second attempt to reland "[vm/concurrency] Introduce concept of Isolate Groups"
This reverts commit 3d14b75f97.

An Isolate Group (IG) is a collection of isolates which were spawned from the
same source. This allows the VM to:

  * have a guarantee that all isolates within one IG can safely exchange
    structured objects (currently we rely on embedder for this
    guarantee)

  * hot-reload all isolates together (currently we only reload one
    isolate, leaving same-source isolates in inconsistent state)

  * make a shared heap for all isolates from the same IG, which paves
    the way for faster communication and sharing of immutable objects.

All isolates within one IG will share the same IsolateGroupSource.

**Embedder changes**

This change makes breaking embedder API changes to support this new
concept of Isolate Groups: The existing isolate lifecycle callbacks
given to Dart_Initialize will become Isolate Group lifecycle callbacks.
A new callback `initialize_isolate` callback will be added which can
initialize a new isolate within an existing IG.

Existing embedders can be updated by performing the following renames

  Dart_CreateIsolate -> Dart_CreateIsolateGroup
  Dart_IsolateCreateCallback -> Dart_IsolateGroupCreateCallback
  Dart_IsolateCleanupCallback -> Dart_IsolateGroupShutdownCallback
  Dart_CreateIsolateFromKernel -> Dart_CreateIsolateGroupFromKernel
  Dart_CurrentIsolateData -> Dart_CurrentIsolateGroupData
  Dart_IsolateData -> Dart_IsolateGroupData
  Dart_GetNativeIsolateData -> Dart_GetNativeIsolateGroupData
  Dart_InitializeParams.create -> Dart_InitializeParams.create_group
  Dart_InitializeParams.cleanup -> Dart_InitializeParams.shutdown_group
  Dart_InitializeParams.shutdown -> Dart_InitializeParams.shutdown_isolate

By default `Isolate.spawn` will cause the creation of a new IG.

Though an embedder can opt-into supporting multiple isolates within one IG by
providing a callback to the newly added `Dart_InitializeParams.initialize_isolate`.
The responsibility of this new callback is to initialize an existing
isolate (which was setup by re-using source code from the spawning
isolate - i.e. the one which used `Isolate.spawn`) by setting native
resolvers, initializing global state, etc.

Alexander Markov 7b50b7a8e6 [vm/bytecode] Bootstrapping VM from bytecode
Previously, core snapshot was generated from AST
(because --enable-interpreter/--use-bytecode-compiler was not specified
when building core snapshot).

As the result, CL
https://dart.googlesource.com/sdk/+/da8cb470cc94830a98d49532e8d5d1a5b3d80f8b
which declared libraries in bytecode also removed bytecode entirely from
core snapshot in Dart SDK.

This CL enables bytecode by default if --bytecode argument is
specified for gn.py. This enables JIT compiler from bytecode
(interpreter is still disabled by default but can be enabled
using --enable-interpreter). Core snapshot and other
snapshots now have bytecode.

This change revealed a bunch of bugs which are fixed in this CL:

* _Closure fields were treated as unboxing candidates which triggered
  assertion in LoadFieldTOS in interpreter.

* Several places should load class declarations if they are not loaded yet.

* Canonicalization of TypeRef objects which are not fully initialized
  may cause duplicate entries in the hash table of canonical
  TypeArguments. This triggers assertions when hash table is rehashed.
  The solution is to avoid canonicalization of non-root recursive types
  and recursive type arguments. Also, TypeRef::Canonicalize and
  TypeRef::Hash are reverted to assert and work only if type was set.

* Native wrapper classes are eagerly stamped as type-finalized
  which caused assertion failures when reading their class declarations
  from bytecode.

* When building flow graph for FFI trampolines kernel offset of library
  (which is now declared in bytecode) was queried. Added special case
  to Function::KernelDataProgramOffset().

* In interpreter-only mode with simulator (e.g. SIMARM64) if simulator
  is not called before code is interrupted with stack overflow check,
  simulator returns get_sp() = 0, which was treated as stack overflow.

* test standalone_2/io/platform_resolved_executable_test.dart
  spawns sub-process but it didn't pass VM options.

Martin Kustermann b75057b687 [vm/concurrency] Introduce concept of Isolate Groups

  Dart_CreateIsolate -> Dart_CreateIsolateGroup
  Dart_IsolateCreateCallback -> Dart_IsolateGroupCreateCallback
  Dart_IsolateCleanupCallback -> Dart_IsolateGroupShutdownCallback
  Dart_CreateIsolateFromKernel -> Dart_CreateIsolateGroupFromKernel
  Dart_CurrentIsolateData -> Dart_CurrentIsolateGroupData
  Dart_IsolateData -> Dart_IsolateGroupData
  Dart_GetNativeIsolateData -> Dart_GetNativeIsolateGroupData
  Dart_InitializeParams.create -> Dart_InitializeParams.create_group
  Dart_InitializeParams.cleanup -> Dart_InitializeParams.shutdown_group
  Dart_InitializeParams.shutdown -> Dart_InitializeParams.shutdown_isolate

Alexander Aprelev 4ccae238ea [vm/isolate] Add TransferableTypedData class that allows low-cost passing of Uint8List between isolates.
TransferableTypedData instances are one-use kind of thing: once receiver materializes it, it can't be used
again, once sender sends it out to an isolate, sender can't send it to different isolate.

Example of use:

sender isolate:

```
Future<TransferableTypedData> consolidateHttpClientResponseBytes(HttpClientResponse response) {
  final completer = Completer<TransferableTypedData>();
  final chunks = <Uint8List>[];
  response.listen((List<int> chunk) {
    chunks.add(chunk);
  }, onDone: () {
    completer.complete(TransferableTypedData.fromList(chunks));
  });
  return completer.future;
}
...
sendPort.send(await consolidateHttpClientResponseBytes(response));
```

receiver isolate:
```
    RawReceivePort port = RawReceivePort((TransferableTypedData transferable) {
      Uint8List content = transferable.materialize().asUint8List();
      ...
    });
```

31959[tr] and 31960[tr] tests were inspired by dartbug.com/31959, dartbug.com/31960 that this CL attempts to address:

Martin Kustermann a6bbc58d09 [vm] Ensure C-struct is initialized to guarantee nullptr in Dart_KernelCompilationResult.kernel
A number of places in the code will free `Dart_KernelCompilationResult.kernel`
if non-nullptr even if `Dart_KernelCompilationResult.error` is non-nullptr.

Normally the two are mutually exclusive (either `error` is set or `kernel` is set) but
some code frees both if they are non-null.

This issue has caused free() of uninitialized memory which in return
caused some of our benchmarks to break.

Martin Kustermann ab6aeaa106 [vm/kernel] Use GC-tracked ExternalTypedData/TypedDataView for kernel buffers
Until now we often leaked kernel buffers (e.g. hot reload buffers) because various
objects were referencing ExternalTypedData objects pointing into the middle of
c-allocated memory. This made it impossible for the GC to determine when the last
reference is gone.

This CL ensures that the actual buffers are *always* made available via
ExternalTypedData and any inner pointers into it are created via TypedDataViews.

The embedder guarantees to the free kernel buffers it has provided to:
    - Dart_CreateIsolateFromKernel
    - Dart_LoadScriptFromKernel
    - Dart_LoadLibraryFromKernel
    - Dart_SetDartLibrarySourcesKernel
on isolate shutdown.

All other kernel buffers will get a finalizer attached, which ensures the
kernel buffers get freed by the GC once they are no longer referenced:
    - Kernel blobs for expression evaluation
    - Kernel blobs for Hot-Reload
    - Kernel blobs for cc tests

Message is a C++ type with a simple ownership model appropriate for
std::unique_ptr. This CL applies the following changes:

1. All uses of "new Message(...)" are replaced with
"Message::New(...)", which is effectively
"std::make_unique<Message>(...)". (The latter was only added in C++14,
but Dart still compiles in C++11 mode.)

2. All owning Message* are replaced with std::unique_ptr<Message>. The
notable exception is MessageQueue, which still uses raw Message*
internally to simplify the linked list handling.

3. All "delete message;" statements are removed.

4. Uses of "NULL" replaced with "nullptr" as necessary.

Alexander Markov 6e72fed210 [vm] Fix for flaky crashes in background compiler while Dart_SortClasses() is running
Background compiler could be running while Dart_SortClasses() clears all
code. It causes flaky crashes on vm/dart/appjit_bytecode_simple_test test
as background compiler may need to access bytecode, which can be read in
mutator thread only.

Also, background compiler may potentially add new code which would not be
compatible with rearranged class ids.

This CL stops background compiler in Dart_SortClasses() before code is
cleared to avoid these conflicts.

Ryan Macnak 3379eefd5f [vm] Remove DART_CHECK_VALID; add check for a current isolate to Dart_PropagateError.
Use DART_CHECK_VALID has been incorrect since the introduction of Isolate.kill and Dart_Cleanup because it crashes when given an unwind error.

Remove long-broken FullSnapshot1 test.

Clement Skau 405bd06725 [VM] Refactors metrics variables to avoid multiple instances per compiled unit.
This moves the definition of the global static VM metric variables
out of the header to avoid defining them multiple times.
This could cause multiple instances which defeats the whole purpose.

Martin Kustermann 94362f1af0 [vm] Unify internal/external/view typed data into new RawTypedDataBase class
This moves the length field as well as an inner pointer to the start of
the data into the RawTypedDataBase class. The inner pointer is updated
on allocation, scavenges and old space compactions.

To avoid writing more assembly the typed data view factory constructors
will be generated using IL, which will update the inner pointer. This
required adding new IR instructions and changing the existing
UnboxedIntConverter instruction.

This is the foundation work to de-virtualize calls on the public typed
data types, e.g. Uint8List.
