Daco Harkes 4081235ac5 [vm] Support unboxed indices in indexed load and store
Use unboxed indices in FFI loads, eliminating extra boxing and a shift for 1-byte loads.
Speeds up Pointer<Int8,Int64,etc> loads/stores by 20-25% in AOT on x64.

This does not use the unboxed indices in TypedData yet, using unboxed in TypedData without making the bounds checks unboxed makes it slower instead of faster.

Régis Crelier 5701c4fd3b [VM/nnbd] Remove propagation of library mode to runtime after spec change.
On 1/27/20, the nnbd specification changed weak and strong mode instance checks
to make them behave uniformly across legacy and opted-in libraries.
Therefore, it is not necessary anymore to propagate the library mode in
generated code to the runtime.

Alexander Markov 0c5b98bb15 [vm/nnbd] Preparation for type testing stubs in NNBD strong mode
This change includes the following:

* Decision to use subtype range checks is revised to work regardless of
  the NNBD mode.

* Handling of dynamic/Object/void is removed from SlowTypeTest stub
as we use TopTypeTypeTest stub for the top types. That handling was
unnecessary but harmless. However, in NNBD strong mode it becomes
  incorrect for non-nullable Object.

* TypeTestingStubGenerator::OptimizedCodeForType now falls back to
  TypeTestingStubGenerator::DefaultCodeForType instead of directly
using StubCode::DefaultTypeTest(). This refactoring is needed to
avoid duplicating a more complicated logic in
  TypeTestingStubGenerator::DefaultCodeForType in the future.

NullCheck pc descriptors are added to all dispatch table calls where the

All null entries in the table go to the NullError runtime entry, which
reads the NullCheck pc descriptor to get the name of the called member
for the error message.

Victor Lima 9eb531bde4 [vm] Add support for real unboxed floating point fields in AOT
Non-nullable floating point fields (double, Float32x4, Float64x2)
are fully unboxed in their classes.

A bitmap for each class was added to the shared class table in order to keep
track of the pointers of the classes. Since all classes in Flutter Gallery
have less than 64 fields, the bitmap is represented by a 64 bit integer and
fields whose offset is more than 64 words are not unboxed.

The instance sizes and field offsets might change between target and host
in cross-compilation, since the number of words used to store unboxed fields
may differ.

Samir Jindel ab2026af45 [vm/aot] Only patch call-sites to monomorphic entry-points when the receiver is proven to be a heap object.
Flutter Gallery ARMv8: -0.8% total, -1.3% instructions
Flutter Gallery ARMv7: -0.7% total, -1.2% instructions

There are some performance regressions, in four categories:

1. Arithmetic on num types (e.g. MinLib, MaxLib):
We believe arithmetic on num types is rare in practice, and can be optimized later
   by specializing the call-sites.

2. Lack of types (e.g. MeshDecompression, ImagingGaussianBlur, Crypto*):
These (and similar benchmarks) are written in a very untyped style, which is not
representative of Dart 2 style. We've confirmed that the regressions disappear if
the benchmarks are annotated with appropriate types.

3. Megamorphic calls which are specialized in the benchmark (e.g. DeltaBlue):
DeltaBlue uses string interpolation in one place, so the toString() method in the
string interpolation helper is monomorphic for _Smis. However, in a realistic programs,
string interpolation is used much more frequently and with different types, so it's very
unlikely that this call would be monomorphic. When string interpolation is removed, there's
a remaining 1.3% regression on DeltaBlue which is not yet accounted for.

4. Noisy benchmarks
The remaining regressions are on benchmarks which show frequent jitter historically.

There are also 1-4% improvements on many benchmarks (Golem's "noise" analysis is hiding
many of them, look at the graphs).

For the reasons above, we believe the regressions justified by the code size improvement.

Régis Crelier e2e290b4cf [VM/nnbd] Simplify NNBDMode enum class.
NNBDMode does not reflect the semantics (legacy or nnbd) of type tests anymore.
Instead, the semantics are derived from the value of the strong mode flag.
This required one function to be specialized, namely the implementation of
'null is Type' in weak mode in an opted-in library, which still requires
nnbd semantics although run in weak mode.
Relevant changes are in object.h and object.cc:
- methods NNBD_NullIsInstanceOf and NNBD_IsTopType are new.
- methods IsNullType, IsTopType, and IsNeverType are modified.

Martin Kustermann 6f6bdfac3a Reland "[vm/compiler] Fix TypeTestingStub -> SubtypeTestCache fallback code if dst_type = TypeParameter"
If the dst_type of an AssertAssignable is a type parameter, the AssertAssignable
implementation will load the value of the type parameter using
the (instantiator or function) type arguments. It will then call the
type testing stub (TTS) of that type.

If the TTS is not exhaustive (e.g. because `T = X<..>` wher `X` is
implemented), it can fall back to the slower SubTypeTestCache implementation.

Right now the STC fallback will get the loaded value of the type
parameter for `dst_type` instead of the type parameter. Doing so is
incorrect.

=> This CL ensures we preserve dst_type = TypeParameter for the STC
  fallback.

Ryan Macnak f0b2a46734 [vm, fuchsia, arm64] Restore the shadow call stack on exceptions.
Fuchsia is about to turn on ShadowCallStack for ARM64. Once this is enabled, we need to treat R18 like a preserved register. Generated Dart has not accessed this register because it is reserved on iOS, and in the absence of Dart exceptions this would be sufficient for us to be ShadowCallStack compatible. However, our exception handling mechanism jumps past all the C++ frames between the Dart exit frame and Exceptions::JumpToFrame, skipping code that would pop from R18.

Add save/restore of R18 in the invocation stubs, and restore of R18 in the jump stub. The latter prevents the ShadowCallStack from overflowing for code that has lots of exceptions without a native call.

In the polymorphic and unlinked cases, call to a stub the does a linear scan against an ICData.

In the monomorphic case, call to a prologue of the expected target function that checks the expected receiver class. There is additional indirection in the JIT version compared to the AOT version to also tick a usage counter so the inliner can make good decisions.

In the megamorphic case, call to a stub that does a hash table lookup against a MegamorphicCache.

Megamorphic call sites face a loss of precision in usage counts. The call site count is not recorded and the usage counter of the target function is used as an approximation.

Monomorphic and megamorphic calls sites are reset to the polymorphic/unlinked state on hot reload.

Monomorphic and megamorphic calls sites do not check the stepping state, so they are reset to the polymorphic/unlinked state when stepping begins and disabled.

Back-edges now increment the usage counter in addition to checking it. This ensures function with loops containing monomorphic calls will eventually cross the optimization threshold.

Fixed backwards use of kMonomorphicEntryOffset and kPolymorphicEntryOffset.

Fixed C stack overflow when bouncing between the KBC interpreter and a simulator.
