Alexander Markov 2477378537 [vm/compiler] Refactor PolymorphicInstanceCallInstr
This change hides InstanceCallInstr inside PolymorphicInstanceCallInstr
and makes sure that PolymorphicInstanceCallInstr owns its arguments
(which would become critical once call arguments become instruction
inputs).

Also, PolymorphicInstanceCallInstr now extends TemplateDartCall which
makes it possible to avoid duplication of methods related to all calls.

Teagan Strickland f6d433dc5e [vm] Remove the unchecked entry point offset field from RawInstructions.
There's just one case where we can't get the offset for Instructions
from somewhere else, and that's when we reset active_instructions_ to
instructions_ in Code::Enable(). Thus, we add a caching field for the
uncached offset to RawCode, but only when the active_instructions_
field is added (when not running in the precompiled runtime).

We also output the unchecked offset in snapshots for Code objects so
we can recalculate the entry point cache on loading. (For full JIT
snapshots, we output both the cached offset and the offset for
active_instructions_.)

Martin Kustermann aceeba7567 [vm/async] Encode the yield index -> token position in PcDescriptors.
Right now `Script::yield_positions()` is an array mapping function start
token positions to arrays. Those arrays contain token positions and are
indexed by yield index.
=> This `Script::yield_positions()` is not available in AOT mode.

The fast async stack implementation will need to be able to find out
where an async closure was suspended. It does so by looking at the
":await_jump_var", which contains the yield index. It then needs to
associate the yield index to token position of the yield.

This CL adds an entry into the PcDescriptors for every yield in a
async/async* function and removes `Script::yield_positions()`.
The entry will associate the yield index with the token position.

Martin Kustermann 38c6152884 [vm/concurrency] Add IsolateGroup::RunWithStoppedMutators and use it in various places
When installing new code, we need to ensure the mutator is stopped for a
variety of reasons.

Right now we only need to distuinguish mutator and background compiler
when installing code: The mutator can install code without any
synchronization whereas the bg compiler needs to get the mutator to a safepoint.

Yet once all isolates within one isolate group share a heap, a mutator
might need to stop all other mutators before installing code (since they
operate on pages on which we flip page protection bits)

This CL adds IsolateGroup::RunWithStoppedMutators which will get other
mutators to a safepoint (if there are multiple or we are on a bg
compiler thread).

Along with this we add a read-write lock and use it for the protection
of the IsolateGroup::isolate_: While we make assumptions about the
number of isolates in a group we force all pending additions of new
isolates to wait. Later on this will also be used to allow iterating the
list of isolates during GC and prevent new isolates from being added at
the same time.

Alexander Markov 4aa820bbf5 Reland "[vm/bytecode] Switch kernel service dill to bytecode if building Dart SDK with --bytecode"
This is a reland of https://dart-review.googlesource.com/c/sdk/+/113123
after stack overflow in the interpreter was fixed in https://dart-review.googlesource.com/c/sdk/+/117061

Original change's description:

Temporary setting of FLAG_enable_interpreter is avoided in the VM unit tests as
this flag is global and used by kernel service isolate while running tests.
Flipping this flag causes assertion failures in kernel isolate's background compiler
or infinite loop between LazyCompile stub and CompileFunction as AttachBytecode
doesn't set entry point to InterpretCall.

The less intrusive way to ensure compilation of functions in unit tests is to set
FLAG_compilation_counter_threshold to 0.

Since Dart 2, library prefixes are always loaded eagerly on the VM.

Also remove reload check for deferred prefixes. This check was added to avoid behavior of library prefixes giving spurious "not loaded" errors after a reload, but now this error can never occur. Resolves a difference in reload between AST and bytecode modes, since bytecode mode isn't surfacing the deferred property.

This adds in a version of the IL deserializer that doesn't actually do
any deserialization yet.

However, it adds in a couple of compile passes that passes the FlowGraph
for compiled functions through the serializer and deserializer. If the
deserialization step succeeds, then the FlowGraph stored in the
CompilerPassState is replaced with the new FlowGraph for the rest of the
compiler.

Also change the default zone handling in the FlowGraphSerializer to use
the zone for the current thread, instead of the zone stored in the
FlowGraph, so that it is appropriately affected by StackZone uses.

Ryan Macnak 1e24fe7d69 [vm, compiler] Specialize unoptimized monomorphic and megamorphic calls.
dart-bytecode, arm64: +4.742% geomean
dart-bytecode-jit-unopt, arm64: +12.73% geomean
dart2js-compile, x64: +3.635% geomean

In the polymorphic and unlinked cases, call to a stub the does a linear scan against an ICData.

In the monomorphic case, call to a prologue of the expected target function that checks the expected receiver class. There is additional indirection in the JIT version compared to the AOT version to also tick a usage counter so the inliner can make good decisions.

In the megamorphic case, call to a stub that does a hash table lookup against a MegamorphicCache.

Megamorphic call sites face a loss of precision in usage counts. The call site count is not recorded and the usage counter of the target function is used as an approximation.

Monomorphic and megamorphic calls sites are reset to the polymorphic/unlinked state on hot reload.

Monomorphic and megamorphic calls sites do not check the stepping state, so they are reset to the polymorphic/unlinked state when stepping begins and disabled.

Back-edges now increment the usage counter in addition to checking it. This ensures function with loops containing monomorphic calls will eventually cross the optimization threshold.

Fixed backwards use of kMonomorphicEntryOffset and kPolymorphicEntryOffset.

Fixed C stack overflow when bouncing between the KBC interpreter and a simulator.

Teagan Strickland a17b52c2c1 Revert "[vm, compiler] Unoptimized megamorphic calls."
This reverts commit fde6a5917e.

Reason for revert: This commit looks to be causing new test failures on dart2js. While there are some odd results on some builders that look like infra failures, some builders (for example, dart2js-minified-strong-linux-x64-d8) show the new failing tests clearly.

Original change's description:
> [vm, compiler] Unoptimized megamorphic calls.
>
> When an instance call in unoptimized code creates more than FLAG_max_polymorphic_checks cases, switch the call to use a MegamorphicCache instead of ICData. The prevents unbounded collection of type feedback, and gives improvements on microbenchmarks in the 3-8% range for unoptimized code.
>
> It also leads to a loss of target frequency information for the optimizer, leading to different ordering for range checks in polymorphic inlining. This leads to changes on megamorphic microbenchmarks from -31% to +60%, weighted toward the negative end.
>
> In practice the frequency information seems unimportant, as dart2js has 4.01% geomean improvement.
>
> This is a step toward direct monomorphic calls in unoptimized code, which will also make use of the patching and type feedback extraction added here.

Refactored existing verify uses (with some overlap and some

found by new checker. However, some checks are disabled with
a TODO, since the IR does not currently meet all the stricter

Stevie Strickland 4028fec3b5 Reland "[vm] Finish adding support for ECMAScript 2018 features."
This work pulls in v8 support for these features with
appropriate changes for Dart and closes
https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/34935.

This adds support for the following features:

* Interpreting patterns as Unicode patterns instead of
  BMP patterns
* the dotAll flag (`/s`) for changing the behavior
of '.' to also match line terminators
* Escapes for character classes described by Unicode
property groups (e.g., \p{Greek} to match all Greek
characters, or \P{Greek} for all non-Greek characters).

The following TC39 proposals describe some of the added features:

* https://github.com/tc39/proposal-regexp-dotall-flag
* https://github.com/tc39/proposal-regexp-unicode-property-escapes

These additional changes are included:

* Extends named capture group names to include the full
range of identifier characters supported by ECMAScript,
  not just ASCII.
* Changing the RegExp interface to return RegExpMatch
objects, not Match objects, so that downcasting is
not necessary to use named capture groups from Dart

**Note**: The changes to the RegExp interface are a
breaking change for implementers of the RegExp interface.
Current users of the RegExp interface (i.e., code using Dart
RegExp objects) will not be affected.
