Aske Simon Christensen 3303df8102 Treat most warnings as errors in strong mode.
Adds a 'severity' field to diagnostic messages and replaces all
addWarning and addNit functions by a generic addProblem, which uses
the intrinsic severity of the message. Eventually, errors should
also be reported this way.

A special severity value maps into either warning or error for Dart 1
and Dart 2, respectively. Most Dart 1 warnings are in this category.

Fixes some 320 failures of DDK test expecting a compile-time error.
These were previously masked by a workaround in the DDC error handler
which has now been removed.

Peter von der Ahé 8e4b0bda23 Route all messages through Loader.
This ensures that all messages are passed to instrumentation.

Issues addressed in this CL:

* When I added addCompileTimeError, I forgot to remove addError.

* All messages now all arrive in a single location (Loader). SourceLoader adds instrumentation by overriding recordMessage.

* As I changed the type inferrer to use addCompileTimeError, I broke DDC. This is because the front_end API (generateKernelInternal in kernel_generator_impl.dart) returns null if there are any errors reported via addCompileTimeError (and this didn't happen with addError, that shouldn't have been there anyways).

* Due to the previous problem, I changed generateKernelInternal to ignore errors, but then I started getting missing compile-time errors. This turned out to be due to the the silent parameter used during outline- and diet-parsing.

* I've removed all the "silent" parameters. This didn't work reliably and have been confusing Brian, Dan, and me several times when making parser changes. Instead we detect duplicated messages and avoid reporting them more than once.

* Types in error messages got names that where using a global object (globalDebuggingNames in pkg/kernel/lib/text/ast_to_text.dart). This meant that the #lib prefix would vary depending on how many tests were run which affected the serialized error message in pkg/front_end/testcases/invalid_assignment.dart.strong.expect.

This CL deprecates the front-end API and moves it into src/api_prototype.

For now all usages have been updated to point to the new location,
but they should be updated to use custom-client invocations instead (e.g.
one specific way for DDC, another for dart2js etc.)

Before this CL vmservice_io.dill included the entire platform
(marked as external), and as thus the dill file was big (4MB+).

With this CL the external libraries are not serialized. While this
doesn't appear to change anything speed-wise it does make the
vmservice_io.dill go from 4MB+ to ~225KB.

This separates compiling platform.dill files from the patch_sdk.dart

files directly from Fasta, so we can completely remove the build step
for generating patched_sdk and dart2js_patched_sdk.

Short-term this should allow Paul to add a strong-mode version of
platform.dill without causing to many conflicts with my work on
patches.

Kevin Millikin 785ae4a9e0 [Kernel] when transferring libraries, keep their canonical names
Before: ownership of some or all of the libraries from one Kernel
program (P1) would be transferred to another program (P2). All the
canonical names in P1 would be unbound from their references and the
canonical names would eventually be recreated for the libraries that
were transferred.

After: when ownership of a library is transferred, the ownership of
the canonical name subtree rooted at the library's name is also
transferred. This allows the 1:1 relationship between Canonicalname
and Reference to be maintained which will enable lazy deserialization
of procedure bodies (because the mapping from CanonicalNames to
References in the corresponding link table will be persistent).

Paul Berry c9b42f6a41 Remove the "kompile" mode of running the front end.
This mode was needed in the early days of the front end when we were
contemplating the idea of building the analyzer AST representation of
code first, and then converting it to kernel. Now that we build
kernel directly, it is no longer needed.

Further CLs will follow to remove code that is no longer used after
this change.

Paul Berry b87556e00d Start copying resolution/inference data from front end to analyzer ASTs.
This CL lays the groundwork for integrating the front end with
analyzer by creating a mechanism to copy resolution and type inference
information (produced by the front end's type inference engine) into
analyzer ASTs (produced by AstBuilder).

The general technique is to parse each function twice: once with
BodyBuilder as a listener and once with AstBuilder as a listener. The
BodyBuilder generates a kernel representation of the function, but
this isn't used; instead, type inference and resolution information is
captured using ResolutionStorer (which is a TypeInferenceListener).
Later, this information is applied to the analyzer AST generated by
AstBuilder using ResolutionApplier (which is an analyzer AST visitor).

At the moment the intermediate data exchanged between ResolutionStorer
and ResolutionApplier is simply a list of types (one for each
subexpression, in a post-order traversal of the program syntax). For
debugging and validation purposes, this is augmented with a list of
file offsets, so that if the ResolutionStorer and ResolutionApplier
get out of sync we can diagnose the problem easily.

In later CLs, more data will need to be exchanged between
ResolutionStorer and ResolutionApplier (e.g. a list of elements to
which identifiers are resolved).

This CL doesn't tackle the problem of translating between the kernel
and analyzer representation of types; for now we simply map each type
to `dynamic`. This is sufficient for early development, since it is
still enough to let us verify that ResolutionStorer and
ResolutionApplier stay in sync.

Sigmund Cherem de36d11817 Add support for building patched_sdk and platform.dill for dart2js:
- defines a .gn target for patched_dart2js_sdk
 - changes patch_sdk.dart to handle a dart2js target
 - adds support in fasta to understand the `native` clause still used by dart2js
 - add option to fasta to know whether it is generating kernel for the vm or dart2js

I'm not excited about how I added the target distinction in fasta, the reason I
did so is that it affects the behavior in several ways: in how we handle
`native`, in the libraries that are included by default in the platform.dill file,
and in the transformations that need to be done. I'm happy to change the
approach.

Sigmund Cherem 06189b271a loader, target, diet_listener moved
from front_end/lib/src/fasta/analyzer/
   to analyzer/lib/src/fasta/

analyzer_compile and compile_platform_dartk moved
   from front_end/lib/src/fasta/analyzer/
   to front_end/tool/_fasta/

front_end/src/fasta/testing/* continues to have some shared testing logic,
 - logic to compute the patched sdk is moved up one level
 - TestContext, Run, and suite.dart (which depend on analyzer) moved to pkg/front_end/test/fasta/testing/
 - only a copy of TestContext is duplicated under pkg/kernel/test/closure/.
