Ryan Macnak d965998d1c [vm] Begin a sliding compactor.
Improves the space overhead of compaction from O(size of live objects) to O(number of live objects).

Future work includes:
 - a smaller, faster representation the forwarding table via a bitmap of used allocation units
 - sorting class sizes off-heap to allow sliding classes
 - running forwarding in parallel

Removes unnecessary sweep from evacuating compactor.

Vyacheslav Egorov fbfc8fee3e [VM] Scrub class name in SnapshotReader::ReadClassId.
When message snapshot writer serializes an object it references
object's class as a tuple [library-url, class-name]. However it
does not scrub these names (String::ScrubName can cause an
allocation and subsequently a GC which means it can't be used
when writing snapshot). As a result of this private names
arrive mangled to the receiving isolate, which would fail to
look these names up if its private library keys are different.

This patch fixes sporadic failures that can be caused by this.

Note: even if two isolates start from the very same main URI
libraries in those isolates might end up with different private
keys because private key consists of library-sequence-number
and a URL hash. URL hashes are guaranteed to be stable but
library-sequence-numbers might get out of sync due to
asynchronous loading.

Carlo Bernaschina 0e32851cfd Add Timeline Dashboard hidden page in Observatory
- Refactoring of the TimelinePage in order to remove the
  dependencies from the Service objects.
- Implemented TimelineRepository to abstract the communication layer
- Structured new TimelineDashboardPage with simplified UI and event
  filtering

The VM returns lists of events which are forwarded to Catapult.
Some events are white-listed for the common user.
Due to limitations in the way the events are generated the only way to
attach the white-list flag to the events is by adding an extra argument.
By setting the hash of timeline.html to #basic we inform JavaScript that
we require the activation of the filter which forwards just the events
white-listed to Captapult, while preserving all the others during
dumping operations.

Carlo Bernaschina 5534568ff1 Make service protocol respect isolate lifecycle
Status:
- Currently the getIsolate API tries to guess the status of the isolate
when it is in between the IsolateRunnable and PauseStart, by reporting
it as already in the PauseStart status.
This can potentially make flaky all the tests that uses PauseStart to
synchronize with the actual status of the Isolate.
- In the previous situation the timestamp of the event is guessed too,
  potentially reporting a wrong value.
- Even with the previous fix the is still a race condition that can lead
to a getIsolate responde with a PauseStart status to be sent before
  the actual PauseStart event.

Changes:
- Fallback to None pause event if the isolate is in between
IsolateRunnable and PauseStart, avoiding double posting.
- Send the PauseStart event before the actual status change, partially
  avoiding the race conditions.
- Set the pause timestamp before the actual status change, fully
  avoiding the race condition.

Carlo Bernaschina cf4cc1973a Refactor Isolate name format, storage and log
At the moment isolated has a name field which is on the main_port the
only exception is the vm-service isolate.
The name is used just for logging.

The service protocol though uses an extra field called debugger_name,
that at this moment is redundant and is optimized away during
compilation.

R=rmacnak@google.com, zra@google.com

This CL:
- Removes the debugger_name in favor of a modifiable name
- Adds to all the log where the name was logged the main_port (that is
  the only real identifier)
- Changes the default format of the isolate name from:
    <script_uri>$<main>
  to:
    <script_uri>:<main>()

Vyacheslav Egorov 7d5231796e [VM, Precompiler] Support obfuscation of the symbolic information in precompiler
Obfuscation is controlled by obfuscate flag in Dart_IsolateFlags.

Obfuscation of identifiers is performed during script tokenization - when TokenStream is generated from the source. All kIDENT and kINTERPOL_VAR tokens are renamed consistently using a persistent obfuscation map stored in ObjectStore::obfuscation_map.

Some identifiers (pseudo-keywords, arithmetic operators, builtin recognized methods and entry-points) are not renamed to keep name based lookups from breaking. All other identifiers are renamed.

Constant instances of Symbol-s (both created via literal syntax #ident and using constant constructor const Symbol("ident")) are renamed consistently with corresponding identifiers.

Script urls and Library urls and names are also obfuscated.

Obfuscation map can be dumped as a JSON array at the end of precompilation using Dart_GetObfuscationMap API.

Diogenes Nunez 479db734e3 Fixes the regression caused by 7568e1f18e.
The IO tests unscheduled the mutator thread constantly, forcing the
isolate to fill new space and cause a GC.

Now, the mutator thread keeps its TLAB when unscheduled, taking
advantage of the fact the same thread object will always be the
mutator thread.

Diogenes Nunez e6e378bb6e Changes new space allocation from simple bump pointer allocation from
mutator to thread local allocation buffer system used only by mutator.

The new allocation scheme is as follows:

- Mutator allocates an aligned buffer from the heap.
- For each object the mutator wishes to allocate
  - If the object fits in the overall space of the bufffer,
    bump allocate into the buffer.
  - If the object is larger than the buffer overall, allocate into old
    space.
  - If the object is not larger than the buffer but cannot fit,
make the buffer iterable by GC and allocate a new buffer.
  - If the mutator cannot get a new buffer, do a GC and try again.
  - If the mutator still cannot get a new buffer, allocate the object
    in old space.
  - If the mutator does get a new buffer (before or after GC), allocate
    the object into the buffer.

This is the first in a series of CL in which I am removing fields from
classes that aren't used in PRODUCT mode. This CL removes the
debugger_ field from Isolate.

Diogenes Nunez 699f84f941 Moves the top_ and end_ words of the Scavenger into mutator thread.
This is the first step to adding Thread Local Allocation Buffers to
the VM.

In this step, the mutator alone allocates to the new space, but keeps
track of the start and end of the space. This is akin to a single large
TLAB.

As a result, the generated code and the dbc simulator changed how they
allocate objects into the new space as well.

Aske Simon Christensen ab7d9a5720 Omit JIT compiler from precompiled runtime on ARM, ARM64 and IA32.
Saves about a megabyte on the size of the precompiled runtime VM.

Next step will be to eliminate the assemblers and code stubs as well. This requires some more disentangling.

Until then, the X64 build still includes the compiler, since its assembler has a dependency on locations.cc, which is part of the compiler.

Dmitry Olshansky cf08eebc71 Replacing TrySync with Metadata
Use that to sync variables to predefined stack
slots inside of exception handler, not before
each MayThrow() instruction.

In JIT mode we can avoid storing extra metadata
by using deopt info instead.

Introduce caching of metadata and
exception handler based on PC.

Vyacheslav Egorov 021f933f69 VM: Make use_osr an Isolate flag, similar to how we made use_field_guards.
In Debug mode we have assertions checking that we don't attempt OSR when
FLAG_use_osr is disabled - however app-jit snapshots are compiled with OSR
enabled and still contain countining and OSR attempting code, which causes
assertions to fail.

Refactor how getters for isolate flags are defined, consolidate all flags into
a single list.

Update test expectations and switch -c dartk configuration to use app-jit snapshot.

We have tests that disable it but we train app-jit snapshot for Kernel with field guards enabled so
we need to make sure that Kernel isolate runs with correct settings matching the settings at the time
when app-jit snapshot was created.

Vyacheslav Egorov a5e1f89583 VM: Fix an app-jit related shutdown race.
IsolateData contains AppSnapshot which might own some HeapPage-s, so we can't
destroy IsolateData in the Dart_IsolateShutdownCallback, because some thread
running in the isolate (e.g. background compiler) might still touch
thoses pages or objects they host.

We need to delay destruction of AppSnapshot until after the isolate shutdown.

Current API does not allow that, so we introduce a new isolate lifecycle
callback - Dart_IsolateCleanupCallback, which is invoked at the end of the
isolote lifecycle when things like background compiler have been stopped
and no Dart code is supposed to run.
