Alexander Markov 49262365dc [vm] Do expensive kernel metadata verification only once per kernel
In DEBUG mode during AOT compilation MetadataHelper::SetMetadataMappings
may spend considerable time verifying that node offsets are sorted
in kernel metadata. The problem is that there are a lot of MetadataHelpers
created (several per each compiled function).

This change moves verification of kernel metadata mappings to
the kernel loader, so it is performed only once per kernel program.

AOT gen_snapshot time on a small test:
Before: 11.680s
After: 9.041s

Martin Kustermann ab6aeaa106 [vm/kernel] Use GC-tracked ExternalTypedData/TypedDataView for kernel buffers
Until now we often leaked kernel buffers (e.g. hot reload buffers) because various
objects were referencing ExternalTypedData objects pointing into the middle of
c-allocated memory. This made it impossible for the GC to determine when the last
reference is gone.

This CL ensures that the actual buffers are *always* made available via
ExternalTypedData and any inner pointers into it are created via TypedDataViews.

The embedder guarantees to the free kernel buffers it has provided to:
    - Dart_CreateIsolateFromKernel
    - Dart_LoadScriptFromKernel
    - Dart_LoadLibraryFromKernel
    - Dart_SetDartLibrarySourcesKernel
on isolate shutdown.

All other kernel buffers will get a finalizer attached, which ensures the
kernel buffers get freed by the GC once they are no longer referenced:
    - Kernel blobs for expression evaluation
    - Kernel blobs for Hot-Reload
    - Kernel blobs for cc tests

This for instance allows the VM to include all patches
(e.g. the previously missing `runtime/lib/date_patch.dart`)

Over time this also allows for `LoadedScripts()` to be simplified and
become faster (it's currently something like O(m + m*n) where m is the
number of results in DictionaryIterator(*this) and n is the number of
returned scripts).

Alexander Markov 61f0f5bc43 [vm/bytecode] Declare members in bytecode
This change replaces kernel AST declarations of fields and functions
with bytecode declarations.

Size of dilp files is reduced by 11-12%.

Startup latency:
Time to the first full frame: 1.945s -> 1.687s
FinalizeClass: 554ms -> 277ms
FinishClassLoading: 296ms -> 156ms

There are following regressions in bytecode mode, which will be fixed
in future:

* dart:mirrors are not supported yet (implementation of mirrors relies
on reading kernel AST in certain cases).

As the result, lib_2/mirrors/* tests fail.

* native extensions are not supported yet (annotations on libraries
and classes in AST are cleaned up as they could reference members
which are now removed from AST).

As the result, standalone_2/entrypoints_verification_test test fails.

* language_2/spread_collections/const_error_test/* tests fail
  due to https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/36286.

Aart Bik 6483f5238f [dart/vm] be more flexible with precomputed constants
Rationale:
The problem was that we were evaluating field
initializers while still loading the constant
table. This hit two asserts (1) having pending
potential_natives() when entering codegen and
(2) not being able to evaluate constants
since the table has not been loaded yet. The
solution is to simply postpone enum field
initialization (forced to avoid hot reload
issues) while loading the constant table
until right after the table is ready.

Alexander Markov 9afb65d7f1 [vm] Fixes for recursive class loading
In --compile-all mode with CL [1] when NoSuchMethodError was finalized
the following happened:

ClassFinalizer::FinalizeClass calls KernelLoader::FinishLoading,
which calls KernelLoader::LoadProcedure to load precedures,
which calls Library::GetMetadata, which runs Dart code and triggers
background compilation; BackgroundCompiler::Start calls finalization of
NoSuchMethodError class recursively.

FinalizeClass calls FinishLoading for the second time, but this time
background compilation is not invoked, FinishLoading completes
and all members are finalized. After returning from recursive finalization,
the first FinishLoading proceeds and overwrites already finalized
functions with freshly loaded non-finalized functions.
As class is already marked as finalized, functions are not finalized
for the second time, causing crash later.

This CL fixes 2 problems related to recursive class loading:

* When fields are loaded, they should replace previous fields
rather than appending them. This ensures that recursive loading
won't add several duplicate fields (potential problem).

* IsLoaded flag is added to a class and checked after loading each
procedure. If class happens to be loaded already, then FinishLoading
should return immediately, discarding its loaded functions.
This prevents overwriting finalized functions with freshly loaded.

Also, this change adds guard against repeated class loading (may happen
during recursive attempts of class finalization).

Régis Crelier 5f36c5f9d8 [vm] Delete BoundedType class in VM.
In Dart2, type bounds checking is either performed by the common front-end or
by explicitly generated code, but not by type finalization or runtime anymore,
as it was done in Dart1.
Consequently, the class BoundedType is not needed anymore, and malbounded or
malformed types are not seen by the runtime either.

Alexander Markov 9f49b47823 [vm/bytecode] Revise representation of objects and strings in bytecode
This is a major revamp of bytecode metadata format. Now bytecode has
its own serialization mechanisms.

This CL adds 'bytecode component' metadata, which contains bytecode
object table and string table. All references from bytecode (constant
pools) to libraries, classes, members, types and strings now have a new
format. References to frequently used objects are represented as indices
in object table, while rarely used objects are written inline.
This allows VM to cache frequently used objects while reading bytecode.

Representation of strings is aligned with VM - string characters are
stored in separate pools of one-byte and two-byte strings. This allows
VM to avoid UTF-8 decoding and extra copying.

Closure declarations are now explicit. Type parameters no longer require
enslosing scopes when reading/writing them.

Benchmarks:
GenKernelKernelReadAllBytecode (Intel Core i5) +29.84%
GenKernelKernelReadAllBytecode (Intel Xeon) +28.74%

Martin Kustermann 94c325a889 Reland "[VM] Make @pragma annotations work generally"
Currently the @pramga('vm:exact-result-type') annotation only works if
the function is a recognized method. This change changes that to make
the VM just look if a function has the annotation (no matter if it's
also in the list of recognized methods or not).

Furthermore this CL lets the type propgagator use
@pragma('vm:exact-result-type') annotations to narrow the [CompileType]
set on [LoadFieldInstr]s.

Since the @pragma is a general feature, this CL moves the
`Function::FindPragma()` to `Library::FindPragma` (which is where any
other metadata lookup happens). We also let the `FindPragma` accept any
of Class/Function/Field objects.

Furthermore the `FindPragma()` function is fixed to handle the case
when the evaluation of the metadata results in an error.
In this case we simply claim to not have found a pragma annotation.

Ryan Macnak 7514ce941e [vm] Assert handles are only allocated when the thread is preventing safepoints.
Threads in the native or blocked states don't prevent safepoints, so they may run concurrently with a safepoint operation like GC. It is not safe for handles to be allocated while the GC is visiting them, so these threads must not allocate handles. Assert only threads in the VM or generated states, which prevent safepoints until they check in, may allocate handles. (Generated code does not allocate handles, but leaf runtime entries remain in the generated state.)
